Blue Ridge Dog Training

After spending $2,000 for a 2 week intensive board & train for my 8 month old lab, Adinna was unable to demonstrate any of the items she claimed my dog could do and instead stated that I was a distraction and that “the purpose of the lesson at pick-up is for me to understand the handling necessary for the transition back home, not necessarily to demonstrate what he learned.” When advised that my dog could not even do a basic down on command when getting home, I was basically told the issue was with me and transitioning the learned behavior. However when requested on numerous times to work with me and show me what my dog is capable of doing, all Adinna did was refer to a manual and state she was there to assist in any way possible but refused to show that my dog in fact did learn anything.
If you are looking for a trainer who provides excuses, refers to a manual and is unwilling to show you any learned behaviors, this is the place to go. And, if you want to spend $2,000 and have your dog not even know the basic command of down, Adinna is perfect for you. But if you are hoping to actually train your dog, stay away from this place! Not only did my dog come home not trained, he was in great need of a bath and it was clear that during his stay no time was spent on brushing him, trimming his nails or even showing concern over a rubbed raw skin irritation under a leg or red and raw elbows. And, I’m now taking my dog to the vet due to these skin issues and a potential bladder infection as I have just learned that this "trainer" advocates for withholding water, not allowing the pup to tell you when it must potty and to keep it intentionally crated with a full bladder.
I’m so disappointed in the lack of training and care that was shown to my dog by this “trainer”.
