Dog injured + neglect + lies by business = watch out

I boarded my dog at K9 Activity Club in May 2024. He was injured in their care. They didn't follow up with me. I had to call them to find out his status. When I picked him up he had been left for hours on concrete with no blanket, food, or water, and was still bleeding. They had not even attempted to stop the bleeding. They offered no solid explanation and no apology. In fact, their story of how he was injured changed. They had not even cleaned his wound and blamed him (a 21 lb Boston Terrier) saying he snapped at them. A wounded dog is apt to be defensive. They declined to pay any portion of his medical bill. Whether or not the injury was caused by accident or negligence, the poor way the staff handled subsequent events is terrible. The business owner angrily attacked me on Next Door and misrepresented the facts on review sites. When things go well at K9, nothing seems amiss. But the poor way they handle bad events is what matters. Please err on the side of caution and do not patronize this business.

    Fun place for dogs!

My dog loves doggy daycare here and she gets so excited to see every supervisor. This is the only facility I would trust to board my dog in as well because they care a great deal are alway highly staffed and the owner is usually on sight or just a phone call away.

DO NOT BOARD YOUR FUR BABY HERE!

DO NOT BOARD YOUR FUR BABIES AT K9!! My sweet 9 month old Rottweiler Kiki boarded with this facility starting on May 20th and was supposed to picked up May 24th. The package I paid for her to board was the cottage. Where it states there is an overnight sitter and "each dog is assigned a crate and let out at the sitters discretion" "a home away from home experience". I discussed Kiki does not usually do well overnight in a crate (as she is free to sleep anywhere in our home) and they were well aware of that and said they would accommodate accordingly, also if they felt like the cottage wasn't appropriate they would move her to the classic lodging area. I get a call Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm regarding an injury to Kikis muzzle, which was described to me as a "scratch" or "scab that came off" and that they did treat her with a face washout and put some ointment. Sounding not bad over the phone at first I was okay with that since of course small injuries can occur. BUT when I received the pictures (which I will attach) I was appalled and furious! This was not a small injury. I immediately called back to further discuss the situation, in response they do not know, and that at the time did not talk to the person who was her sitter in the cottage for the night. I called a family member to pick up Kiki up as soon as I received those photos and take her to the vet. The vet describes her wound as 48hrs old and was caused by repeated rubbing most likely from the latch of the crate. The vet ended up doing a debridement in her wound. She is now on antibiotics and pain killers. I write an email to the owner Alicia and we met and discussed the situation. Still after meeting with Alicia there is no answers to how this occurred and she states we can "speculate". She states the sitter said she whined only once through the night which he took her out to pee. I'm sorry this is BS there's no way my pup Kiki could cause this much damage to her face and not cry during the process or even be silent about it (which Alicia states she probably did this silently). No interventions were ever done or nothing in her report card stating she was enduring any sleep behavior issues. I paid for Kiki to be in a cottage and to be supervised more closely. This is absolute neglect in their ability to care for my pup, with a vet stating the wound was 48hrs old and staff not noticing the wound until it started to ooze IS UNACCEPTABLE!! Per Alicia many workers were caring for Kiki is didn't realize it. This is on her face where it's in clear sight view. I wouldn't trust them with my pup ever again! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!

    Superb Canine Care

My 20lb border terrier, Henry, adores K9 Activity Club and so do I. The staff are professional, experienced and efficient. They are often very busy at peak hours but it is worth a little patience for such a high quality facility which is always sparkling clean.
I especially recommend the Daycare Club where doggos and puppers are grouped by size and temperament for maximum fun.
Henry comes home happy and tired from frolicking. After five years of bringing my dog here for boarding, grooming, training and daycare I am a very satisfied customer.

    Not recommended.

Had to take my dog to the vet after his stay here. For a wound on his nose that was minimal and 2-3 laceration to the inner eyelid and a corneal laceration. We picked him up on a Thursday kenneled him and went to work for the night. Friday morning he had drainage from his nose and left eye with swelling. After calling the club we were told that they forgot to tell us about his nose but the damage to his eye could have happened after we picked him up. Vet bill $155.

    Finn Loves Coming Here

We started here with the free puppy socializing and once Finn was to old for that we signed up for the daycare club. Doing the club you get guaranteed reserved spot on the day you have picked, one free nail trim and activity a month! My dog Finn seems so happy being there.

    Great Time

We boarded our dog with K9 Activity Club during our vacation and we have nothing but good things to say about this place. Their facility is well kept, the staff is great, and our dog was well taken care of. The dog boarding rates are extremely affordable, especially after seeing how nice the place is. best dog boarding service in Sonoma County hands down. All other places we tried were more expensive and our dog came out completely filthy. They really take care of their dogs there and watching our baby play and have so much fun with the other dogs there and staff members is just ppriceless. Highly recommended.
