Our dog died in their care

Absolutely horrible experience. We lost our dog today due to their negligence. Two days ago we bring our beloved pet into their office due to her having blood in her feces and having diarrhea. They run tests and put her on an antibiotic. The next day she just got worse. She wouldn’t eat nor drink. So we took her to a different vet and she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. They put her on a different antibiotic. So today, she can’t walk or stand and will only stand if you put her on her feet but it never lasted more than 30 seconds. She still was not eating or drinking. The vet office that diagnosed her was closed today. So we took her back to this one because they already had some of her information and she needed to be seen urgently. My mother called them at 8:30 and they informed her to bring her in at 10:30 and she will get IV fluids and antibiotics. So, of course we bring her in and we arrived at 10:27 am. We get checked in and one of the front desk people come and ask us what’s going on. So we tell her “she is not eating nor drinking at all. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Her last bowel movement was yesterday morning. And she is vomiting and won’t take her medicine.” So then she takes me to sign paperwork. And there is a box to check if in an emergency they are allowed to do whatever they can. And of course we say yes. So she shows me by tugging on her skin that she is severely dehydrated and they will start her on IV fluids. So she takes her to the room . So we leave. That is two times we were told she was to receive IV fluids. 12:30 comes around and they tell my mother that they want to do an X-ray to see why she isn’t walking. So of course we agree and they have yet to start her on IV fluids. 3:30 comes and they said they are going to start the fluids. And then right after they say that supposably before they started she went into cardiac arrest and passed. So it took them 5 hours to start and IV that they actually never started because she “went into cardiac arrest” and I honestly don’t believe that. So when I found out she had passed. I called the office and I raised cane. Because she shouldn’t have died… she should’ve gotten the IV fluids like they told us they were going to do. The person over the phone said “they did everything they could” and when I asked what did they do they said “we had a bowl of water in the room” and I lost it I told them “and what good did that do when we told you that she hasn’t ate or drank. That’s why she was here , to get IV fluids to help her from dehydration.” And she proceeded to say “we were busy and she was a drop off” they were to busy to start an IV that takes less than 5 minutes to do. They were to busy for an emergent case. They were to busy to even tell us that they were busy . Because if we knew that she wasn’t going to be seen soon, we would’ve taken her somewhere where she would’ve gotten the care she needed and deserved. These people are absolutely negligent to their actions. They took the last hours of our dogs life. We didn’t even get to say goodbye. Pancreatitis is treatable. Dehydration is treatable. But obviously they were not treatable on their agenda. Because they were to busy to save our loved pets life. They could’ve told us they were busy but they didn’t because all they see are dollar signs. They do not know how to prioritize care. The lady I spoke with asked me “have you ever been to an emergency room and had to wait?” And of course I have. But I am a person. I can tell someone if something isn’t right or if I’m starting to feel more unwell than when I came in. This was a dog.. they can’t tell you how they are feeling. That’s why they ask us what is going on with them when we bring them in. But of course they obviously paid no attention to that. These people are negligent. And that’s it. So I would never ever trust them with my animals life ever again. They already took one from us, so hopefully this post will save other people the heartache that we are going through right now. And just a side note, she was a healthy dog. Never had any issues. Never even had fleas. She was only 6 years old. Perfectly healthy pup that loves to play . And they took that from us…
