    Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We brought our Shih Tzu in for a full cut. Dropping him off seemed ok. The shop wasn't overly busy and everyone seemed nice. When I picked him up he looked very nice, except for one long spot they missed. When I brought my baby for his second cut I wish I had just walked OUT. But I wanted to give them another shot. It was only one long spot and his hair can be curly there...I understood. This time the shop was chaotic...It felt far too booked. I should have listened to my heart and LEFT.
I brought to their attention the missed spot and asked them to please not shave his balls....went into a story as to why...and I asked them to please leave his eyelashes alone. When I picked him up I could have cried. First of all the shop was A MESS. Hair everywhere. This time I also noticed hair all over the merchandise for sale on the wall...SO gross. The front desk guy couldn't find me in the system....was running around asking questions. Nobody seemed to know anything about my dog! The whole thing was a mess and a complete anxiety attack. Once I got him home and calmed down I noticed that they only cut his mid section very short and jagged, and his feet very close, his leg hair and neck hair is poofy and makes his feet look ridiculously small, and it's cut jagged. The long spot that I brought to their attention is still LONG. They shaved his little face around his nose so close that I can see the skin... but didn't touch his cheeks or his head, so his face is a ridiculous shape. AND....they shaved his eyelashes COMPLETELY OFF!!! ANYONE who has a Shih Tzu knows how heartbreaking that was....and now his eyes are constantly watering... AND....they shaved his balls. Thanks for hitting everything on my do not do list! We had asked for the same groomer as before....but I'm pretty sure that didn't happen. It honestly looks like they let the front desk person... with no groomers experience ...groom my dog. Will NEVER return...and how does this nasty place have so many great reviews?!?!
I contacted them RIGHT AFTER I got home....AND the next day. I wanted to speak to them before I left this review...but they have never ever contacted me back.
I mean if you wanna play Russian roulette with your pooches grooming.... definitely visit K-9 splash and dash....spin the wheel and GOOD LUCK! Because who knows what you'll get!!! I should have checked their lowest reviews...Absolutely insane.

    Smug amd rude

All the previous reviews are spot on. The owner is absolutely the worst! I do not see how they stay in business the way they treat people! I am scared to imagine how our dogs are treated since they cant tell us what happen to them! $400 for cuts all over their face and razor burn. I asked them not to be put in a dryer box. Even offered to dry them myself. Arrived to find one in the box of death. Absolutely should be shut down! Unfortunately Florida does not require a lisence for groomers and they are not regulated by any state entity.

    Worst Experience Ever

Do not recommend! They lie and are rude. They need to be under review for improper business practices.

    Rude, Bad Service

Place is terrible! NOT RECOMMENDED. Never dealt with a groomer like this. We've been sending our dog to the groomers every 2-3 months for 7 years. Every time we take him here, HIS NAILS ARE BLEEDING BAD because they cut waay too short and he comes back limping, yes limping!! This time, they called, said he had some matting spots by his lower chest area and asked to shave it, we said ok...? They send him back completely shaved to his skin and yep bleeding nails cut back into the vain and limping again! Seriously!? We love our dog, he's a Newfie with a thick double coat, he does take more work for groomers. From other bad reviews it seems they do this whenever they get a dog with a thick coat and blame it on matting. Call the manager to let him know, he actually had the nerve to get rude, not listen and lie "well he must of been severely matted", TOTAL BS. Manager needs to take a class on customer service and obvious problem solving. Horrible customer service. We send our dog to the most expensive vet in town every 6 month, full physical, gets a furminator, well taken care of, great bill of health every visit! Truth is they're lazy, got busy and didn't want to deal with his double coat, so they shaved him to his skin, nails cut back to the vain, beading and limping again! $200! This place should be shut down

    Rude staff

Horrible experience both times I have been there. One time for groom services for my dog, and one time to try and use their self bathe services. Both times the information I received over the phone did not match what I was told when I went into the shop. And both times the employees were rude to myself and/or my dog. The experiences were about a year apart. I try and give businesses a second chance in case my first interaction was just a fluke, but obviously this was not. I will not be back again.

K9 Splash and Dash actually lost our dog!

our Reese somehow escaped from K9 Splash and Dash and was missing for 36 hours. Thankfully we (and some very special friends) had posted about 100 flyers in the neighborhoods that Reese could have gotten to after running through the cemetery. We also had many shared Facebook posts including on the List and Found Pets of Gulf Breeze page. Many of their supporters were out in the trenches looking for her. The owner said that our 50 pound, 11 year old dog pushed the very heavy door open on her own. Extremely unlikely. It’s more likely that somebody was entering or leaving and Reese saw her chance. As somebody said to me, shouldn’t the door pull open rather than push to be sure that no strong animals could ever push it open. Precautions should be taken proactively not reactively. A most valid source shared with me that our dog has not been the first to escape from this grooming facility. I guess that one escape didn’t teach the owners anything. Although there were a number of sightings of Reese, she proved to be hard to catch. A sweet couple called our friends’ number (one of the numbers on our flyer) at 10:30 saying that they had Reese. Be still my heart - prayers had been answered. My husband called the owners on Thursday since we hadn’t heard from them and nine hours had passed since Reese had ‘dashed’ away from K9 Splash and Dash. The owner wanted nothing to do with accountability and called my husband a liar when he said that Reese wasn’t a ‘runner’. Sometimes in life we all have to own things that happen on our watch. Accountability; it’s the adult way of handling things. Owning a wrong likely leads to some easier things in the long run too. Owners messaged me the next day to say that they were putting lots of flyers up and searching the neighborhoods. Seems that they merely copied the flyer that I made. Seems to me that they would have wanted to provide their contact info too. But no, they didn’t. Isn’t it better to have more contacts thus more people available to hurry to get the missing dog while some kind person is holding her for pick up? Another example of lack of accountability. Saturday morning I messaged them to see if they could bring Reese’s collar and leash to our home so that we could walk her. We live about two miles from the groomer. The message that came back said that we would have it by 5 pm! Gosh, don’t go out of your way or anything. A friend of ours picked them up Saturday morning. The owners also have boarding facilities in Navarre and, I believe, Pace. Our pets are part of the family and if we can trust a groomer to hold on to them safely for three hours we sure wouldn’t trust them to board our pets. This likely looks like a ‘rant’ and it is I guess. But imagine getting a call 30 minutes after you dropped your dog off for a routine grooming like we did - “uhm, your dog took off and we don’t know where she is. You probably should start driving and looking for her because we haven’t found her yet”. Really? Unwritten contractual agreement there that holds the groomer accountable for my dog’s safety. K9 Splash and Dash should have insurance coverage of various types for their grooming business. One is ‘bailee ‘ coverage for a dog that bails while in their care. Not sure if they have this coverage or any other but they best look into it quickly. Thrilled to have our Reese home and we feel so much gratitude for so many folks that helped in the search for her. No gratitude to the owners though - the completely blew it in our minds. I’ve asked several people involved why they thought that so many people were looking for our dog and why all of the local vets had been contacted and why a few other things happened. The answer was that this was ‘novel’. This was more than a lost dog; this was a dog lost while in the care of a paid groomer. I was told that this just doesn’t happen very often. Stay away from their three facilities if you cherish your pet. And feel free to contact me if you’ve had a bad experience with them. The more cases the merrier in a situation like this.
