    Deserves zero bones!

Prior to a couple weeks ago I would have rated this place very high. However I am extremely disappointed in the unprofessional way they handled closing the St. Pete location. At this point I'd rate them zero stars.
They sold me a 10 day daycare package for over $300 in mid February and disclosed they would be closing the store February 29th. The next day I attempted to take my dog they had a sign on the door saying they were temporarily closed for the morning. They never opened again, never contacted anyone, and despite my calling and visiting other locations and leaving messages asking for a refund, I've received nothing. No contact, no response, no refund. I talked to many others who were treated the same. Seems like they quickly took money for services not provided and rather than refund, they are going ghost. Either I get a refund soon or I am getting a lawyer involved and asking for not only a refund of what I paid but compensation for days missed from work because they closed unannounced. I will also tell everyone I encounter not to trust these people with your pets. If this is how they do business, one can only assume they cut corners with pet care too.

    Careless, incompetent staff

I have used royal pets for boarding my dog for 2 years. In the last 6 months I’ve noticed the service going down hill but continued to use royal pets since I felt my dog was still being well cared for. Many times when I call, I need to call several times before the hotel staff answers the phone. On our most recent trip, I brought in proof of my girls bordatella vaccine and let them know that she would not be getting it during her stay as I had gotten it done with her vet a few days prior. They person checking her in took the proof of vaccination and scanned it in. When I picked her up 2 days later I was charged for the Bordatella vaccine. It turns out that they gave my dog the vaccine anyway. I have a dog with severe allergies which is why I decided to have her vaccine done at her normal vet. They removed the charge for the vaccine and an additional $30 or so. The manager never came to apologize or speak to me directly. The excuse I was given by the associate helping me was that it was a busy morning.. when I dropped my dog off at 7am we were the only ones in the store. Needless to say this was complete incompetence on the hotel and veterinary staff. I will be finding somewhere else for my dog to stay in the future.

Erby of Iraq died under their care

My healthy and happy 2 year old Akbash died during a routine teeth cleaning December 26, 2019.

They say a tube was either placed in a machine incorrectly or it became stuck on its own, either way it malfunctioned. The tube filled her lungs up so much that it stopped her heart. I do not recommend their Veterinarian team.

Erby of Iraq was rescued from Iraq in 2017. She did not deserve this.

The veterinarian on duty refused to speak with me.
