- MarieMar 17, 2023Our Beloved Boy, dead in his kennel, covered in feces and bile
On Friday, March 10th, we took our beloved, healthy, beautiful, 3 1/2 yr old, Blue Heeler, “Odis” to be boarded for ten days at COOPER & FRIENDS PET PLACE, in Longview, TX.
After only 2 days of boarding, our beautiful boy was found dead in his boarding kennel. Covered in feces and bile (per the kennel manager and confirmed by the vet). The kennel manager told the vet that Odis was fine on Sunday morning at 6:30 am, but when he and another kennel employee returned later that afternoon at 12:30, they found Odis dead in his kennel. The kennel manager never called us to tell us our baby was gone. Instead, we were notified by the vet, at 3pm, when our poor boy’s body was delivered to her clinic. Have no idea when our boy passed. Sometime between 6:30 am and 12:30 pm on Sunday. Despite several request, we have yet to be contacted by the kennel owner. Don’t know what was happening to our baby from 12:30 when he was found and 3pm when he was finally taken to our vet.
Currently on vacation in Florida. Not able to return to collect my boy’s body until the 20th. Have no idea how to begin to untangle this ….. Vet is conducting a necropsy
