Animal Hospital East
- MikeJun. 19, 2020Great vet. Great staff.
We have been going to AHE for 15 years now. They have always done the very best they could for our pets. We have a house full. They recently saved our Maltese “ Roxie “. She had a tumor and we thought we were going to have to put her down. She started having seizures and we emergently took her in. They always accommodate us if we have an emergency and work us in almost immediately. Dr Kuhn saved our dog. He performed flawless surgery on her and now she is back home wagging her tail. Kudos to this practice. Our experience has been nothing like the other reviews here.

Much grief put in my life from this place. Took my dog in for checkup due to a slight limp and lumps on his body. Told me thy were only fatty tissues. Never checked them out. When I picked up my dog he was limping worse than ever. They x-rayed him and must have hurt him real bad. He came out worse than he went in. After spending thousands with other vets & Reach Hospital with no success in getting a correct diagnose, I took him to the University of Tennessee Animal Hospital where I'd had success with a previous pet. They found his tumors were cancerous and had spread throughout his body. Beware of that place!!!!!

My husband and I have been taking our dog to Animal Hospital East for over 5 years; however, we will never take our dog there again. Dr. Kidney used to be our vet and he was wonderful. Very helpful and kind to our dog. However, after he left we've been very disappointed in the care we've received. The staff is very friendly but the ownership is not okay. Dr. Kuhn has being seeing my dog the past few times we’ve been there and he seems uninterested when I’m there. Even though my dog is healthy he kept pushing unnecessary procedures including teeth cleaning every 6 months; however, they did such a poor job cleaning my dog’s teeth that he bled for weeks afterwards. We had to take him to another vet to confirm the damage. Additionally, when my dog had an altercation with a wild animal I called to confirm that was vaccinations were up-to-date. The staff thought it would be a good idea to bring him in to ensure everything was okay. My dog was slightly limping and his shoulder was sore but his temperament seemed fine. Even though I questioned the necessity of it Dr. Kuhn said my dog need an x-ray to ensure that his shoulder wasn’t dislocated. When I came back to pick up my dog he didn’t show me the x-ray just said that everything was okay and went about his business after that. I spent over $300 for absolutely nothing. Overall, my biggest concern is that I just can’t trust Animal Hospital East. They seem to be out to make as much money as possible without any regard for the animals they should be taking care of. Asheville is an animal-loving city and there are plenty of great vets to choose from. I would highly suggest not going to Animation Hospital East.
