Swiftdogz Canine Services
- ShaunaMore than a year agoMy only choice for grooming and training
I have been taking my 5 1/2-year-old Goldendoodle to Swiftdogz for most of her life. My search for help in teaching my dog to become a Pet Partners therapy dog led me to Swiftdogz and I can't say enough about how they helped me achieve that goal. Growing up, we just dealt with whatever bad habits our dogs had, but through Jenny, Haley, and others I have learned how to identify and correct issues and develop a happier, more balanced dog. I know I am a better owner/handler for my dog because of the things I've learned in various classes and individual work here. Training can be expensive, but the difference it makes in the life of the dog and its day-to-day interactions with the family is worth it. I am so accustomed to the good results of my dog's training that sometimes I forget how crazy she was when I first brought her!
As for grooming, they really understand the different types of doodle coats and keep my dog looking fabulous all the time, which is important for therapy work. They are also very patient and understanding in helping deal with her skin issues when they crop up and have made good recommendations for me to try at home. Finally, they will treat you like family. When a member of our therapy dog/handler group passed away unexpectedly, Swiftdogz held a very touching memorial service for him as well as clients who had lost their pets or human loved ones recently. I have complete confidence in Swiftdogz and recommend them to anyone looking for grooming, training, or both!

Swiftdogz has helped our family in many ways. Their teams has helped us out in more ways than I can count. But my favorite part is the grooming! We have 3 German Shepherds that live inside with us and they shed...A LOT. I was brought up with no dogs inside so when I got married and that changed I was slightly mortified. In walks Swiftdogz and changed our lives for the better. Their work in training with our dogs was off the chart but their grooming technique was what sealed it for me. Our dogs look great (which is important since my wife shows them) and the shedding is gone! For me that is worth more than five stars any day!

My family has had a couple of dogs trained through Swiftdogz and we have nothings but great things to say about them! The level of training that goes into these dogs are amazing! They did an unbelievable job of training my service dog as well, and I am so grateful for the effect his training has had on my life daily.
Odin an 85lb male German Shepherd. He is now actively working for me as an SD. His obedience is exceptional, and his alerts & Task are spot on.
We stumbled on this gem of a facility in our search for a trainer. After meeting with several of Swiftdogz trainers (even the owner) and discussing their training methods we decided to give them a try. I am so glade we did. I now recommend everyone to I know! Not only do they address obedience and behavior issues, they teach your canine to think for themselves so that they understand why they are making the decisions they do instead of just following a command. They makes for a better, well rounded dog that can understand why they do the things they do.
This was so important for the training I needed as there are times when I am unable to think for my SD when we are out in public. I needed a dog that would be able to handle going into a hospital without soliciting (reaching out to people or objects and staying on task without being told) Or going into a restaurant without trying to beg for food. Or an airport and plane without stressing out. I can honestly say that they provided above and beyond what I every hoped for.
Odin now has his CGC and his CGCA and is working on his CGCU and Service Dog Public Access Test. I'm proud of him and proud to recommend his wonderful team!

Have had NOTHING but the BEST experiences here! Wouldn't trust anyone else with our pets!!!
- MckenzieMore than a year agoOur pets deserve better!!!
Terrible business and abusive to animals. After speaking with previous customers it was no surprise that they had similar stories. Do not trust Swiftdogz or Jenni Lough Watson with your animals, they deserve better treatment!

when I dropped my sweet Jake off at Swiftdogz for an "evaluation" he weighed 185 and was in perfect health according to a recent vet visit. When I picked him up his eyes were bloodshot he was covered in slobber from head to tail and looked like he'd been abused physically. My vet said while it was impossible to know exactly what happened without being there that Jakes symptoms were consistent with choking. They also said it was permanent. Over the course of the next year he lost over 70 lbs because he couldn't keep food or water down due to a damaged esophagus. When we finally had to let him go last June he weighed 112 and had suffered long enough. An ex-employee (Who voluntarily said she would be happy to speak to a judge or anybody else who wanted to know) from Swiftdogz told that The owner uses horse crops and leashes to break a dog the same way you break a horse. And I didn't even look for her she looked for me. Everything I've stated here is a fact. I don't know if she uses horse crops and choke collars and leashes but that is exactly what I was told by someone who said she has witnessed it. Due to all this and a lot of other albeit circumstantial evidence that i won't bore you with I know I that Jake would still be here if i had not taken him there. My kids would still be able to lay on him and love on him. I'm tired of keeping this a secret. I can't bring Jake back but maybe if someone sees this it will keep something similar from happening to their dog. It is my opinion that not only is this woman not fit to be a dog trainer or boarder she belongs in jail and her business should be shut down permanently. Other people have had problems. They are starting to get over their fear and speak out for the voiceless.
I wrote this (below) a few weeks before he died because news agencies and the sheriff's dept wanted a summary of what happened: I couldn't fit it all because if the character limit
"When I took my sweet St Bernard Jake to Swiftdogz for a "$50 observation day" he had just been to the vet for a wellness visit and was about 185 lbs and the standard for what a St Bernard should look like. He had also been recently groomed. When I picked him up from after I got off work that afternoon he was completely drenched from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail in vomit. His eyes were bloodshot, and he couldn't breathe well or bark.
Jenni Lough Watson told me that for a $1000 retainer for 4 months ($4000) she could fix Jake's problems. Needless to say I never took him back. From that point on Jake began vomiting daily, was sent to urgent pet care in Huntersville where they were able to save him. (asphixia led to pneumonia, endoscopy, etc) Almost a year and upwards of $5000 in vet bills later Jake is still with us although a skeleton of his former self both physically and personality wise.
Now he's less than 125 lbs, still has breathing problems and vomiting. Everyday his legs are dirty because he can't keep his water and food down so he vomits all over his from legs and chest.
I have no video proof and the only possible eye witness who was there the day Jake was there told me that she wants to "put the whole experience of working there behind me" The other former employee who said she would go on record said she probably doesn't want to talk because she was probably following orders from her boss and holding the other leash. Maybe it's just a coincident that he started the day the picture of health and when I picked him up his rapid decline in health began. I have no proof. All I know is he has lost over 60 pounds of muscle mass which began on the day I picked him up looking completely broken. His bark returned but much weaker than before. I have lost a lot of sleep and a lot of money and time. The whole way I have to take care of him has been different since that day. I am only sharing this because I don't want to see it happen to another innocent dog and their owners."
- ShannaMore than a year agoAmazing trainers!
Jenni and her team at Swiftdogz are a wonderful addition to the Canine world! They take to time to assess each dog they train and focus on their individual needs. I have sent my dogs there and can't say enough about the results! Their grooming is also hands down the best that I've found. They specialize in the double coat breed which works great for our family since we have German Shepherds. Their coats are always soft and glossy, and they no longer shed all through my house. I love it! I would highly recommend them to everyone I know.

Jenni is AWESOME! She really knows her dogs and how to best manage them. She is great at understanding dogs and working with their owner. She's a wonderful resource; very knowledgeable about specific dog breeds, personalities, and their behaviors.
