Claws and Paws Inn
- Dorothy FoggMore than a year agoHighly recommend this business.
We found Claws and Paws to be clean, the staff was very friendly and intuitive to the fact our dog was timid. When we picked her up she was glad to see us, however, she was not anxious at all. When we took her back the next morning, she walked in the front door like she belonged there. I will not hesitate to use these facilities every time I visit. There was no crating, but I saw a lot of loving going on. Thank you all at Claws and Paws. See you in September.

EXCELLENT place to socialize your dog. CARING staff with lots of love to give. I've been going to Day Care for 4 years and have never had an issue.I'm even allowed to bring my two in a bit earlier than the actually opening time due to work conflict. My one dog isn't allowed in the "pack" due to him being intact (show dog) and he receives just as much attention as my other furkid. Totally trust the staff and the knowledge they present EVERY day. The one barks the seconds I put on the blinker when turning into the place, due to him being so happy to be there! Wouldn't take them anyplace else...

I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. Claws and Paws don't crate, they just stick your babies in a kennel reminiscent of a kill shelter. I asked for a tour of the facility and I was treated as if it were an unusual request... then instead of showing me what goes on behind the door beyond the counter, she and I walked around back and I was only shown the kennels where the'aggressive' and non-neutered dogs are kept. It was shocking and I was very concerned that they would lock my baby in there. I was assured that this was only for the safety of the other more friendlier animals and that mine wouldn't be in there. Second day I dropped her off there as I was pulling away and in my rear view mirror I see an assistant walking my dog to the back where the kennels are. I called and this Debby person told me it was 'policy' that dogs should be introduced to the others through the kennel. Utter crap, that is NOT what they did the day before. She lied to me twice that morning and I spent the ENTIRE day at work worrying about my dog and belive me if I didn't HAVE to work I would have taken her from there immediately. This Debby Cozzie person is rude and has no idea how to conduct herself in a professional business manner. She literally told me to accost (take her down - as in tackle - to the floor) my dog for jumping and scorned me for not 'training' her, even though she is a very well behaved and very obediant dog. I told them the first day I dropped her off that they shouldn't let her watch me leave. I was told that it was thier policy and they made her stand there and watch me go. From that moment on she wanted to jump the counter... and it was made out to be my fault that she jumped THEIR counter. She doesn't jump counters at home! Neededless to say, I took her to the other place in Belmont.. the one that didn't have a problem taking me on a full tour, the one that doesn't have a kennel, the place that is so wonderful you literally have to schedule daycare now because they are the best place around for the money... you know, the one where everyone there is pleasant and are really true animal lovers. They got a star out of me now only because I was forced to rate and they dont have a 0 to choose.

I have used Claws and Paws Inn ever since they opened many years ago. I cannot imagine having to board my "babies" anywhere else. The open environment gives them a sense of home and a chance to meet new friends. Not sure how they do it, but the dogs are all so well behaved and never seem to be stressed out. Took our foster dog Zeus this past week. He suffers from separation anxiety and he was not the least bit stressed from being there - I think he wants to come to Doggie Day Care .. You will not find a more pet loving staff anywhere in Belmont. Dr. White has been our vet for over 20 yrs,. HIGHLY recommend him and his staff and then there is Tanya Edwards the groomer. Tanya was our groomer before coming to Claws and Paws. She is truly "Groomer Extraordaneir" so glad to have her back grooming my "Motley Crew" of 3. Ginger, Bella Rose and Zeus highly recommend Claws and Paws Inn, Grooming and Catawba Heights Animal Hospital.
