    Horrible staff & doctors

Banfield located in Nanuet is horrible. Dr. Schneider, Dr. Hlang, and the rest of the staff are the worst. This was the most uncaring vet hospital I've been to. Front end receptionist were rude and very unknowledgeable, I told them I had an emergency and all they did was hand me a piece of paper to fill out, my dog died while I filled out paperwork. I've spoken to several employees that no longer work in that Banfield and they all told me how uncaring the hospital and corporation is. They only care about their net sales at the end of the day. It's the corporation who is at fault, field leadership puts so much pressure on the hospital. Previous employees have told me how uncaring Kimberly Audet (field leader) and Dr. Ashley Harris (medical director) are, and how much pressure they put on the doctors and turned them into uncaring, heartless money hungry vultures. All Banfield doctors are required to make money from pushing wellness plans and selling unneeded merchandise/services to the clients. Doctors receive a commission check when they make their quota, employees receive nothing, that is why they try to hire employees with no experience, that is all that they can get. They underpay staff members and are encouraged to continue to do so. They have a chief of staff, Dr. Schneider that has hardly any medical and or interpersonal experience. She was taught to practice unethically and it has rubbed off on her staff. She has made many mistakes that have been covered up that has caused animals their lives, they try to advance her education not medically but on the financial benefits of the practice, she is taught how to lie and cheat clients, instead of being taught new advances of veterinary medicine. Employees tell me that Dr. Hlaing try's to convince clients that their pets are in great danger if they do not sign an outrageous estimate for treatment, and if a client asks her any questions she tells them they are bad owners, or she does not have the time to explain further, and tells the client to stop wasting her time. Her own employees can not stand her way of practicing medicine and will not refer you to see her. None of the employees will tell you to bring your pet to see any of the doctors, and tell you how not to trust them. They over vaccinate every pet seen on a wellness plan, because the more vaccines they give your pet the higher their total sales are, if total sales are high corporate treats them like they practice good medicine. The medical director does not ask them about what lives they have saved, but asks them how much money they can get from one client. PetSmart has an adoption agency that rents out a space in the store, if you ask any of the Love my Pet volunteers if Banfield Nanuet is a good and caring practice, they will flat out say no and refer you to a veterinarian that cares. They told me of the horrible experience they had with Banfield Nanuet and how they did not have any sympathy for any of their rescued pets, they told me to specifically see Dr. Chaffer, if I wanted my pet taken cared for the right way, but said that she probably gets so much negative pressure from her fellow corporate members that she can not practice medicine they way she want to. They actually told me she is to good of a doctor to be working in that office with so many money hungry members, and has given into the pressure of the corporation. I will never go to Banfield Nanuet again, my pet died because the receptionist were so inexperienced they did not realize that my pet was in dire need of care, some say its my fault to have gone to a place that does not handle emergencies well, but I thought that maybe they would be able to stabilize my pet and safely send me to a better equipped place, but they were not, unless I filled out a piece of paper, I asked them if they could please let me speak with someone just to see if my pet needed oxygen, they even refused that until I signed an $50.00 estimate and filled out all the paperwork.

    Worst vet hospital around

Staff has no experience. Poked my dog eight time for a blood draw. Doctor never called me with blood test results. Dr. Schneider killed my dog after a supposed complication in surgery. If you love your animal do not go to Banfield Nanuet!

Do not enroll in a wellness plan

I have had terrible experiences with Banfield and the stipulations of their wellness plan. Dr. Persuad at Banfield of Nanuet told me that she was unable to neuter my dog because he had high liver enzyme levels. She suggested that I pay an additional 500.00 for testing at Banfield and 2500.00 for a ct scan. I took my dog to Valley Cottage for a second opinion and they were able to neuter my little yorkie with no problems. Valley Cottage was amazing with my little pup as opposed to Banfield, which I have found to be a money hungry company that fails to show concern for your dog or you. I would not bother purchasing a wellness plan from this company. They are insensitive and upon entry into the plan they tell you that you must remain enrolled in their plan for the full year, regardless of their inability to perform any work or the unfortunate loss of a pet (death). I should have been aware of their antics from the gate. If you are a Rockland resident take your pet to Valley Cottage
