    Best Dog Training Facility!

We LOVE Sherwood Barks! Our little Havanese needed socialization so we brought him to the Puppy Play Group. WOW, what an amazing facility! The pups romp and play at their own free will. Dogs are allowed to be dogs at Sherwood Barks. Of course the owners are always aware of what their fur babies are up to. Jen has an amazing set up where the dogs can run at full speed and stop at one of the numerous water stations for a quick refresh. Each owner takes care of their own pups messes and everything you need is right on hand, mops, bags and even little green machines! We love Sherwood Barks so much that we decided to enroll our pup into the training classes. Wow what a difference we have noticed with the amazing training using positive methods. I love how the staff will always find solutions for shy pups or those with attitudes, using positive reinforcement. Great job Jen and the staff at Sherwood Barks, you are amazing.

    Puppy playtime not worth it

I took my puppy there for puppy playtime and was very disappointed. First we showed up and waited with numerous other people in the very small entry way for the class to start, no one came out to get us so we all just went in, overlapping with other dogs who were leaving their training session. Once the session started, all the person onsite said was that this was puppy playtime, don’t talk to your dog or encourage them to play, just leave them alone. I sort of get that but there were a lot of pet owners there who had never socialized their puppies before and I could see the anxiety on their faces...and on their puppies. Fifteen minutes in the instructor had the bright idea of putting the really young pups in a separate section but by then, in my opinion, the damage was already done to those poor pups. There was no water available for any of the dogs, many who were running and panting and really needed to be hydrated. Lastly, and what I think is most important, is that the person checking us in never validated anyone’s shot records, she just said that by the time the dogs got to be a certain age, it was just assumed they’d have all of their shots. I’m never going back!

My pup really learned to socialize and her confidence with other dogs grew considerably. She learned some basic obedience, but there wasn't much attention payed to going over old lessons or reviewing trouble areas. I also felt it was occasionally disorganized, but that could be due to their move to a new facility.

    Puppy Class

My Puppy and I Loved Going to Class every week. My Puppy learned to Socialize, Come When Called, Manners, Basic Obedience and so much more. I highly recommend Sherwood Barks as the place to go with your new puppy. All the training is very positive and my puppy learned so much (so did I)
