  Honestly, good food and great hospitality!

  We almost did not stop here because of one bad review…but then saw that it was from 2015. We took a chance that it might have changed since then and it did! A huge Oak tree provided shade for picnic tables and the crushed granite ground was clean for the dogs! the waitress was attentive to us AND our dogs and the food was pretty good especially the homemade banana pudding! I’d stop there again…on purpose! Oh! and the cold beers and frozen sangria swirl topped it all off!

  The waitress brought me cold water. They have a large outside dining area for pups. Great food too! Highly recommend.

  No place for dogs

  I searched for a dog friendly restaurant in LaGrange to meet up with our daughter, and the search got me to this page. There is one table on a cement slab, no shade, it was 98 degrees when I got there, and the restaurant staff told me this was where you can eat with dogs. This is not dog friendly. I drove to town, got a quick meal at Dairy Queen, with a nice shaded area, for our family and our dog. I will not ever return to the Back Porch BBQ.

  We just discovered this great midway stop between Austin and Houston. It's right off the highway (don't even have to go into town) at the corner of Hwy 71 and Hwy 77. The owners converted an old house into a bbq house with a great outdoor seating area and grassy land behind it. It was perfect to walk our 2 dogs and get some great bbq. Clean restaurant and family owned/operated by some really nice people. Make it your pit stop!
