- JohnJul 24, 2024Nice Spot
A busy Saturday night but a great spot for dinner with your dog. Only waiting about 15 minutes for Sweeney's Tavern. It's on brick and much better than The outdoor beer garden, which is on mulch & dirt. There were two other dogs scattered outside so the earlier posting by someone saying they have just one table is wrong. The service was very good. The menu is decent but not overly varied. A little surprised they want to have you use plasticware. Need actual metal-ware! A little thin on vegetarian items other than salad. Pork Chop was good. Next time I'll try the crab cakes.
- KaileyJul 10, 2023Great dog friendly spot!
I have been visiting Gettysburg my whole life and have always loved the Farnsworth. Now that I have a dog, I was happy to see that they were dog friendly - they are so dog friendly that they even have a dog menu! We ordered chicken for my dog as well as a free water bowl. Would definitely recommend and will be going back with my dog!

- JacquelineSep 4, 2019Phoenix Can Clear Up The Confusion!
Just spent a weekend in Gettysburg and Phoenix ate here twice! On our past stays, the place used to have only one dog-friendly table, but that has changed. The place now has a dog-friendly sign at the garden gate, and there were dogs at several tables when we dined. The outdoor area is a beautiful garden and can get a bit buggy, but it is an overall great experience.
- SusanSep 29, 2018only 1 table for dogs
Called to ensure that they were dog friendly and I was told they were. We get there, hostess says that there is only one "dog" table and it is taken bc they will "bother other people". Needless to say we left.
- GingerMore than a year agoBeen going here my whole life
Every time we come to gettysburg we stop here. Easy parking which is hard to find in town, great food, and always lets us sit outside in the very beautiful garden with our pup. Keep in mind that this is a very popular gettysburg dining establishment so yes at peak times you may have a wait. But they do accept reservations. Though we have never needed one for outdoor seating and are usually seated right away.
- KymberlyMore than a year agonot so dog friendly
We drove to Gettysburg just to try this "dog friendly" joint.... We were told that it would be at least 20 minute wait with a dog. After watching 3 dog-less couples wander in off the street to immediate seating on the terrace we left.
