    Great food and attentive staff

We went to The George on the RiverWalk two days in a row. Had the same awesome waitress Crustie( unsure about the spelling). She was polite and attentive. Food was fantastic. She brought water for the pups immediately. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great ambiance and delicious food!

    Yum!

Sat on the deck with a river view and very attentive service. Had a great salad & decent crabcake sandwich. server brought Nala a bowl of water and complimented her good dog manners!

    Great Location

After being sat at the table the first thing was a bowl of ice water for Monty. Staff were friendly and the food was amazing! Planning another trip to Wilmington and will definitely be back.

    Bad seating for dogs

they only allow dogs on the Lower patio in the hot sun and no tablecloths. the upper patio was empty in the shade with tablecloths, but we were not allowed. we have a nine pound dog in a stroller.

    Highly recommend!

As stated previously, George’s allows pets, but only on the deck. We visited on a Friday night and didn’t have to wait. Service was excellent and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. Probably would have been a 5 bone review but the bar drinks were a bit underwhelming. The waiter mentioned they grow their own mint. Apparently the bar tender was out of the loop since the mojito barely had any.

Nice Even On A Fall Day

We visited on a sunny November day. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a dog-friendly table but we were able to put our name on the list and walk around while we waited. The service was good and the food was tasty. My dog enjoyed people and boat watching while we ate.

    Over and above

It was unusually cold (high 30s with gale warnings) and they let us sit on the covered part of the deck with some shelter on the sides from wind. We think they even turned the outdoor heater on since some warmth was coming from it. Waitress was more than accomadating despite having to come out in the cold to serve us. She told us it wasn't on the menu but they could grill a chicken breast for the dogs so we got two. The dogs loved it. They loved the shrimp and grits as well. Food good, friendly staff, nice view of Cape Fear River.

    Friendly and caring staff

The food here is great, but so nice that thwy care about your pup too. They have water dishes for your furry pal and they also brought us a cup of ice. We really enjoyed the experience, but wish there had been more shade. Misty hid under the table from the heat, but we kept moving our chairs to keep shaded. Try for a table with more awning coverage if you can.

I would give it two thumbs up if I had thumbs

My humans and I really enjoyed our lunch here. The food was prepared quickly and the staff was accommodating and professional without being pushy. We loved watching all the hustle and bustle of the river walk while we had a lazy lunch. Please note:Dogs are allowed on the bottom porch only so call ahead seating is advised. We didn’t have to wait at all but are only like 10 tables that dogs sit at. We came here for lunch on a hot June afternoon so it was a little warm also . The only thing that I would have changed would be perhaps having a few fans on the bottom porch to help with the heat. Luckily the staff brings eat dog their own water dish so that was a huge help.

Only dog friendly place on riverwalk

Other places we walked to who said online were dog friendly were not. George had a sign with a paw print advertising they were dog friendly to all dogs. The second we sat down they brought over a water dish and all staff was so friendly to our pup!

    No shade on the patio

The hostess brought us to the back patio, where dogs are allowed. It was about 6PM and the sun was still very strong. Our party of 4 asked if we could be seated with a little more shade and we were told, no, this is where people with dogs sit. Keep in mind that 2 people in our party are elderly and I was concerned that the sun would be too much for them. The hostess didn't seem to care. While there were awnings on the patio, the sun beat down on us since it was lower in the sky.
By the time we left, the hair on my next was soaked since I was sweating so badly and another in our party was also sweating so badly that it was easily visible.
The food was good, and the location on the water was nice, but the fact that we were roasting took away from the experience.

Your dog will love it! Great views, food, and staff!

Marlin was treated just like any other customer with fresh water and greetings from the staff. Dockside dining the Riverwalk is great for people watching, sunsets, boaters, peering at NC Battleship...plenty of activity to look out while enjoying your delicious meal.

    Great place

We were there on May 25. Milo had his water even before we sat down. Food was awesome and what a nice view. Highly recommend if your in the area with your pet. Also would like to mention we walked around town and many of the businesses had water out for the pets.

    1st restaurant visit with Fes

We truly enjoyed our visit at The George. We really didn't know what to expect since we had not taken our 2-yr. old Cavalier King Charles spaniel to a restaurant. The wait staff, food and venue were all exceptional. While we were being seated on the water-front deck, the hostess brought Fes a bowl of water. What service!! Fes also gives The George 5 bones.

    Great food and service

We have a new fur baby, so going places is a bit difficult. I never knew there were places that allowed pets to accompany you. The food was amazing!! My pup behaved very well during our meal and the service was great! Thank you for a great experience. We will be returning next time we go to Wilmington.
