Covered patio
McKoy's Smokehouse & SaloonIt was quite chilly when we were there so we were delighted that they had a covered and heated dog friendly patio. Dogs helped with the Living The Dream platter (chicken, pulled pork, smoked pot roast and ribs). Try their fried squash, was delicious.
Lovely view, friendly service and good food
Village BrewhouseCrazy winds 15-25 mph with higher gusts possible and we were traveling with our dogs. Was ecstatic that this place was dog friendly and the way it was situated even though we were on back deck, the building blocked a good bit of the wind and we had a lovely lunch. Waitress was super friendly and immediately brought iced water for the dogs and was even taking pictures of them after giving them attention. Ordered grilled chicken tenders with a side of mac and cheese off the kid's menu for each dog. Husband and I ordered build your own tacos with his shrimp and mine mahi mahi. Both man and beasts enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Awesome place!
Bonita Beach Dog ParkWe went at the morning's low tide so no issues with having to walk through water to get there. Dogs had a great time. Loved that it was a sheltered area so no wave action and water remained shallow out quite a ways.
Fun time by man and beast
Pennsylvania Renaissance FaireCassie and Champ got so much attention at the Renaissance Faire. They loved the turkey legs. A number of vendors had water bowls out for the numerous dogs that attend.
Very nice dining area and excellent food!
Harvey's Main Street BBQStopped in here after PA Renaissance Faire. They had a large fenced in, landscaped dining area out back with tables that had umbrellas for shade. We tried a bit of everything. The beef brisket was so tender and juicy. Loved the pulled pork as well. Collard greens were excellent. The dogs I gave a sampling of brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, mac and cheese and fries. Mac and cheese must have been their favorite since that was the first thing both of them ate before devouring the meats.
Unique outdoor seating
Carol & Dave's RoadhouseThe restaurant is located on the second floor of a historic building. Dogs are welcome out on the 2nd story porch. They were promptly greeted with water bowls and attention from the staff. We ordered from the kid's menu for the dogs. The bread they bring out to start with was so good. I enjoyed their baked shrimp scampi, husband got a special for the day chicken and waffles (he thought the chicken was a bit bland). Our waitress was very friendly. We stopped in here after visiting Fort Ligonier which dogs are allowed in fort just not carpeted areas inside unless they are carried.
Very nice hotel
Motel 6 Wilkes Barre PA - ArenaAs soon as you walk in you can smell the clean. Spotless large room with kitchenette. No pet fee for up to 2 dogs with combined weight up to 150 lbs. There were grass areas on all sides of hotel and a number of trash cans outside.
Huge portions of BBQ
Grandpa's Love ShackCouldn't decide on what to eat so I ordered the Love Shack Sampler that had beef brisket, pulled pork, pit ham, ribs, chicken, roll and 2 sides. It was more than enough for me and my two dogs to split. Be sure to get the homemade ice cream as well. We ended up getting it in a milkshake for drive home. Dogs were welcome at picnic tables out front and since they are under an overhang, even though it was raining we stayed dry.
Great food
Sons of Sicily Pizzeria & GrillFour tables outside to eat at with dogs. Got pizza and boneless wings for us both very good and got a whole grilled chicken sub plain to split for our two dogs. There was a ton of meat on their sub. We even tried some of the chicken and it was excellent.
Good food with live music
Appalachian Brewing CompanyWe stopped in on a Friday night and it was quite busy. They had live music in the biergarten. From our understanding it was self ordering at window for biergarten picnic tables, wait staff delivers the food to table. We waited for one of the 4 tables on patio that had waiter service. Ordered cheeseburger sliders and pulled pork sliders off kid's menu for dogs. It even had a cheese and crackers appetizers for the kid's meals (2 saltines crackers and 1.5 slices of white American cheese cut diagonally). The sweet and smokey wings were awesome. Patio is right next to main road so loud at times.
Covered Pavillion with nice picnic tables
Kauffman's BBQ RestaurantCovered pavillion with nice picnic tables. Varied menu and ice cream desserts. Also had a pup cup of soft vanilla ice cream with dog bone.
Covered patio with fans
Harper’s TavernAfter a hike at nearby Memorial Lake State Park, we stopped here for lunch. Dogs were welcome on the covered patio that was screened and had fans as well so even though it was a hot day we were comfortable. Dogs had a bacon burger and I enjoyed the fish and chips.
Excellent wine and foods with lovely view
Boyer CellarsDogs were welcome on the porch and grounds. Husband and I did wine tasting with a number of wines we liked. They were doing Flatbread pizzas when we were there that were excellent and we got the homemade salsa & chips that were amazing. Beautiful view.
Great ice cream
Perrydell Farm and DairyDoggies highly approve of peanut butter swirl ice cream. There is a window on the side to order at and tables and grassy area to sit and enjoy the ice cream. Dogs enjoyed saying hi to the calves as well.
Cafe in a lovely town near a lake
Caffe 101Dogs were welcome on patio where tables had umbrellas or at the picnic tables that had a large tree for shade. When we tried to order from kid's menu for our dogs, the waitress offered up they could just charge us for a chicken breast or steak so we got one of each so dogs had a mix of food. We ended up with tacos for us. There is a Children's Lake right across street and we had walked the dogs prior to lunch at South Middleton Township Park where they had shady walking spot and stream to play in.
Good food
Lion's Pride RestaurantThey have a patio with tables that each have umbrellas where dogs are welcome. Food was pretty good. We loved the crab dip, I got a wrap, husband apple & chicken salad, got a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon for dogs. Did have issue with service in that after hostess brought us menus they forgot about us however when I went inside to remind them about us they profusely apologized and even discounted our check.
Lovely view in the shade
Brothers PizzaThey have a large covered area with picnic tables that the dogs are welcome. We ended up getting subs and the rolls looked like they were made from pizza dough which always tastes great. We asked for grilled chicken breasts for our dogs. Next time we come back we will definitely try the pizza.
Great selection of hard ciders with excellent food
Grand IllusionLove the chicken tacos that use Naan bread as the shell rather than a tortilla. Doggies loved the brisket sandwich. Huge selection of hard ciders with some wine and beer as well. Dogs welcome at outside tables. Staff very friendly and had dog bowls. Only downside is outside tables are on sidewalk so right near road & noisy.
Very friendly service
Sam's New York Style PizzaThe waitress was happy to see the dogs and automatically brought out a bowl of water. For the dogs I ordered a burger plain and grilled chicken which they inhaled. Food was alright. The 2 dog friendly tables are in a very tight spot right off the road so it was rather loud.
Excellent bbq
Chubby's BarbequeFood is amazing with very fast service. Dogs enjoyed their pit beef and they helped me with my brisket (so moist & tender). Dogs are welcome at picnic tables outside. Only reason I gave 4 bones instead of 5 is downside is no umbrellas or shade (dogs used table as shade) and it is right next to highway.
Authentic irish food in quaint historic surrounding
O'Lordan'sHad eaten here a number of times before however this was the first time I thought to ask if dog friendly. We were allowed on the ground floor patio that had tables with umbrellas so dogs had shade which is important. Doggies loved the bangers and mash we ordered for them. Will definitely return.
Great authentic home cooked Mexican food
El RanchoFood was excellent. Appeared to all be made in house including the tortillas. Service was friendly & fast. Small patio to the side where dogs were welcome. Will definitely be back. Only down side is patio is right next to road.
Excellent food right next to Northwest River Trail.
McCleary's Public HouseAfter a lovely hike on the nearby Northwest River Trail, we stopped in with our dogs for a meal. Ordered grilled chicken breasts for our dogs who also helped us eat their voted #5 in the nation fish and chips. No waitress service at the tables at front and side where dogs were allowed however you can order at take out window. The restaurant is right next to the railroad tracks (stone's throw away) and while we were there a train did go by which scared the dogs, otherwise the rest was great.
Nice outdoor patio area
Bay City Seafood RestaurantNice outdoor dining area with ample coverage from the sun whether under the covered patio or at a table with umbrella. Strings of lights light up the patio at night. Ordered the kid's meals for the dogs (one cheeseburger meal & one shrimp basket). Our one dog enjoyed mussels as well. Food was alright, crabcake had large chunks of meat. Did feel a little segregated. While everyone else they seated under the covered portion of the patio they sat us as far away as possible on the uncovered side. My dogs are very friendly and enjoy saying hi to people so they were disappointed to be so far away.
Good pizza
The FridgeYou have to order inside where dogs are not allowed so if alone with your dogs this could be an issue. Seating outside is at high top tables with stools on a narrow sidewalk so you are right next to the road. Pepperoni pizza was good but at a $15 price there was not a lot of pepperonis on it at all and pizza was thin crust so not very big. Ended up paying $10 for hot dogs (1 for each dog at $5 price tag that only included a hot dog that was regular hotdog size actually not even quite as fat as let's say a Ballpark frank. It came with nothing else). Soft pretzels with beer cheese were good and reasonably priced. Place would be good for a beer lover since they have over 400 craft beers available according to their website.
Covered eating area complete with TVs
The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & GrilleNow you can take your pooch with you as you watch the game at a sports pub. Covered outdoor eating area with multiple TVs outside. Waitresses were ecstatic to see the dogs. Ordered grilled chicken breasts off the kid's menu for the dogs. Reasonable prices and varied menu with decent food.
Very dog friendly!
Freeman's BBQ CompanyLoved the tie outs on the picnic tables in the back area. Had water, bowls and poop bags available. The free doggie portion of meat others mentioned was never offered to our two dogs but we ordered the kid's buckaroo meals for them and we ate their side dishes. We preferred the side dishes to the meat (loved the collard greens & cole slaw) My brisket was rather dry and I ordered a platter expecting slices of brisket and it was shredded. Husband's drumsticks he said were just ok. If eating in back area bring bug spray, we were eaten alive.
Outdated, dark and dinghy
Quaint Inn & SuitesThe roof in the lobby was leaking. We checked in there was only one bath towel for the two of us. When we asked for another one they said they were out and could give us a fitness towel. We were surprised by that considering how few cars were in the parking lot (we got on late in the evening). Places are stressing all this additional cleaning they're doing because of Covid and I was shocked to see dental floss on our bathroom floor (see below picture). Apparently they weren't even doing a good job of regular cleaning so I seriously doubt about additional cleaning for Covid. The room was very dark even with all lights on. The website said hot breakfast however they didn't even provide juice and all they had was some muffins and danish in a small fridge. There was a door in the back that was closest to our room that was broken. Normally in order to get into that door you would have to put your room key in which is fine however it wasn't registering that it was reading any person's room key so they just had a broken piece of brick for you to wedge in the doorway.
Very dog friendly!
Buddy Lou'sNot only were the staff ecstatic to see the dogs they even took pictures to post on the restaurant's Facebook page. The menu had puppy plates (see below in pictures for menu and picture of the food) and it came with free ice cream with a dog biscuit. Will definitely come back again. Restaurant was also right next to C&O canal so you can walk off those calories on a flat, shady trail.
Lovely view
The Black Bear Tavern and RestaurantTables on deck had large umbrellas that helped cover us from the rain. When I was ordering food for the dogs the server was nice enough to tell me about the $2 dog size burger that was not on the menu. Dogs' burgers looked really good and tasty and sweet tea was good. The rest of our food was mediocre. Sauces like ketchup, ranch & bleu cheese tasted watered down. Husband got wings, I got grilled chicken wrap that tasted burnt. The restaurant was in a valley with a mountain on one side and lake on the other.
Excellent food and covered patio
Casa Mia'sNot only did they have a covered patio to provide shade, they also had fans so despite it being such a hot day we were comfortable. Waitress immediately brought out a "fancy" bottle of water for the dogs (see pictures). "World famous" crabcakes were chocked full of lump meat and very little filler. Dogs enjoyed an 8 oz burger. Food was excellent.
Lovely view and yummy food
Hidden HarbourVery small restaurant off the beaten path. Small deck overlooking marina with picnic tables and umbrellas. They also had a large fan outside. Friendly service, good food in realistic portions. Try the rockfish bites they were very tasty. Husband got an Admiral's Club which was a sandwich with a crabcake topped with shrimp salad, bacon, lettuce and tomato. I got a blackened grouper sandwich on ciabatta with Caribbean sauce. For a drink I got Pirate Booty which came in a small bucket.
Very friendly customer service & lovely view
Watering Hole Pub at Warrener'sThe customer service was very friendly. Brought out water for our dogs and also told us where a spigot was for water as well. Menu was limited because of COVID & limited staff. Food was what you would expect for a pub. Since it was more convenient, we ate at table in parking lot rather than covered patio on other side. Lovely country view from table.
Good food, friendly service
Pike Restaurant & LoungeCovered patio with ceiling fans. Food was good. Husband got fried chicken, I got 2 lbs snow crab legs that the dogs helped me with. Also got for dogs grilled chicken breast topped with bacon and pulled pork. There were a number of bikers there and it was amusing to watch a seemingly tough exterior melt as our 4 month old corgi was saying hi to everyone and giving kisses.
Beautiful view, good food
The Promenade GrilleCovered deck with ceiling fans plus being right there on the water even for a 93 degree day it felt nice. Food was surprisingly good since you order from a window and pick up your food that is paper plates. Husband had soft shell crab, I had pulled pork with grilled summer veggies on the side. A special for the season was fried green tomatoes which were excellent served with a remoulade sauce. Doggies got hotdogs. Hush puppies came with our food and a side of sweet butter, all was good and very reasonably priced.
Good food, sidewalk area for dog seating
Kooper's NorthFood was good, waitress was friendly. Restaurant in a strip mall so outside seating is a handful of tables on the sidewalk.
Nice shady outdoor area
Stony Run Brew HouseMultiple outdoor tables with umbrellas. Good drinks, excellent pretzel bites.
Large outdoor eating area
Seawitch Cafe and Tiki BarPlenty of outdoor seating with much of it covered for shade. Dog friendly and decent food.
Right on water, dog friendly
Fishy Fishy CafeThey had water bowls right at the hostess station. Covered deck dogs were welcome on. Try the Cajun Mahi Bites, both of us loved it plus our dog Annabelle. Waitress loved waiting on our dogs.
Friendly service
Squisito Pizza & PastaThere is a patio area in the front. We ate there the end of February so no umbrellas were out however as soon as they realized we had our dogs with us they offered to bring an umbrella out which I declined but thanked them for the offer. They gave us a carry out dish to use as a water bowl and the dog's loved the grilled chicken breast kids meal.
Amazing food, friendly service
Sweet n Savory CafeI eat here every time I'm in Wilmington and the food never disappoints. Go one night where they're having the prime rib, it is so good and very cheaply priced. There is a patio and a screened area in the back where dogs are welcome. When we went it was in the 40s temperature range and was quite cold. They turned on heaters for us to keep us warm. The waitress was ecstatic to be waiting on our dogs and we couldn't have asked for better service.
Over and above
The George on the RiverWalkIt was unusually cold (high 30s with gale warnings) and they let us sit on the covered part of the deck with some shelter on the sides from wind. We think they even turned the outdoor heater on since some warmth was coming from it. Waitress was more than accomadating despite having to come out in the cold to serve us. She told us it wasn't on the menu but they could grill a chicken breast for the dogs so we got two. The dogs loved it. They loved the shrimp and grits as well. Food good, friendly staff, nice view of Cape Fear River.
Good food, friendly service
Reter's Crabhouse & GrilleThe staff was very friendly and brought out a pitcher of water and bowls for the dog. Even a waitress that wasn't waiting on us came out to say hi to the dogs. Both myself and the dogs loved the blackened tuna bites and the dogs had from the kids meal a cheeseburger and chicken tenders. My one dog helped me with my shrimp salad and she loves their fries with ketchup. Downside is the location where you eat outside is a very narrow sidewalk with the parking lot right there.
Great spot
Rusty Rail Brewing CompanyDogs allowed on patio. Umbrellas on every table plus building itself helped with shading. They sell dog biscuits made from spent grains from the brewery. Food was really good.
