The food and service were great. Not only do they have an extensive menu for people, but they have a short menu for dogs. Our dog Penelope really enjoyed the chicken and rice.
- IvetteJul 23, 2023Great Service and dog friendly menu
We have been to several locations and all have been fantastic. However, they do require all dogs to be trained to be able to not beg or need to sit up on the chairs/tables/no barking.
Our pups have done multiple levels of training and have been fine every time. We also bring their little mat to make them more comfortable. I have seen dogs who bark a lot or aggressive towards other dogs be asked to move to a different table for safety.
They have 2 choices of meals chicken with rice and veggies or hamburger patty and rice with veggies
They have dog relief areas that are easily accessible. This is a regular on our rotation.
- JenniferOct 1, 2022Perfect for a 1st visit to a restaurant
As new empty-nesters, my husband and I decided to try taking our 3-year old shiba to a restaurant and I’m so glad we tried Lazy Dog!
Our food was good, but we really loved how easy it was to dine with our dog. The service was friendly, attentive, and made all of us feel at home. The water bowl was complimentary but we also ordered a beef pattie with brown rice off the doggie menu and our picky eater gobbled it all up. We’ll definitely be back!

This is our go-to when we want to do something local with our dogs. The patio is not covered, but they have umbrellas that provide plenty of shade. The dog menu is small but our dogs still love it. The human menu is extensive and has plenty of crave-worthy items.
- JordanaOct 26, 2021Dog meal was great suggestions
We went because they take dogs & also because they have a wide variety of food for all in our party. The server suggested a meal for our pup. We didn't know they had those. This was our first visit (not the last for sure) and she was so happy to eat a fresh meal while traveling. She didn't feel much like eating until we went there. We were grateful for the suggestion. The people food was great too, my husband discovered a good new beer (green flash) My salad was delicious. We'll be back. 5+ Bones.

We were eager to try this place out. Had good reviews online and we were not disappointed. Service and food were great. Love the menu for dogs. Our puppy loved her chicken and rice.

We stopped here on our way out of SD, right off I8, easy parking, friendly staff and they even had a menu for the dogs ($2.50-$5). Server brought a bowl of water right away and we had great service overall. Food was good too! Pigeons were antagonizing our yorkie who couldn’t help but to bark at them but everyone was understanding.

It was awesome, best pet friendly restaurant I've been to. Great service and great food!! - HollyMore than a year agoPretty Good
Dogs aren't allowed in laps or chairs which is a bit of a problem for my pup. Sangria is good. Spinach Cheese dip is meh. Staff is super nice and friendly.

Very dog friendly restaurant. Nice patio area with a doggy menu and very accommodating staff. Also good reasonably priced human food too.

I and several others from a meetup group made a reservation to bring our dogs to this popular local eatery near the San Diego River Trail. After walking our dogs along the river, we met up at the restaurant and were seated in the patio area.
Although we had a reservation and had given ample notice we were converging with several large-medium (well-behaved) dogs, the staff was very slow in realizing we couldn't be densely seated, and slow to bring the dogs water. Although the people menu looked promising, the dog menu was rather uninspired, and the food slowly delivered. This is a fairly new restaurant- it's a brilliant concept and location- a little tweaking would put it over the top.
