Great Vibe. That is what most folks say when they first walk into the Black Mountain Ale House. Our concept is pretty simple. Provide some really great beer. Pair that with food meant to be eaten with said great beer cooked by an award-winning chef and his killer kitchen crew. Plop that down in the midst of some of the most beautiful mountains on the main street of a sweet little mountain town and that'st the Ale House. It's an upscale yet unpretentious destination for visitors and locals alike. They have 19 taps of mainly local/regional brews, along with a variety of wine and liquor. Dogs are welcome in outdoor seating area.

Food was good Southern fare. Ate on the patio with our pup. They brought a bowl of water out for her. I saw other dogs with their humans, nice atmosphere. Sadly, no dog menu like they have at Tupelo Honey, but still wonderful to have a place to bring your dog in Black Mountain.
Found this when passing through Black Mountain. Excellent food, great beer selection, awesome atmosphere, very dog friendly. Will definitely be stopping here again!
Patio was perfect spot after a long day of hiking. Service was exceptional and food was exactly what I was craving in addition to a really good (not sweet) cocktail. I had the black bean burger with cut fries and the cucumber royale. Highly recommend!
We stopped in on our way to Brown mountain. The wait staff was very friendly and brought a bucket of water for our dog. The eggplant fries and wings were great. I had the fish special with beurre blanc sauce. Hubbie got the tavern burger with egg on it. I can't believe he ate the whole thing! I liked that the patio was tucked behind the restaurant with planters and corn hole.
We stopped for lunch & snacks with old friends. There is good parking in the back & a nice green field for walking dogs. The pork dip was very good; the eggplants fries were unique & delicious. The dogs enjoyed laying under the large table with their bowl of water. Several waitress came to check them out & flirt (w/ the dogs!). Music inside could be heard easily on the deck so that was also a plus. They open until 3PM most days so it's more early/ late dinner rather than lunch.
Dog friendly back patio with great views of the mountains, friendly staff brought beer buckets of water to each table with a dog. The food was all hand crafted goodness...try the eggplant fries!!!! Great beer selection too. We will go back again when in the area...excellent!!
