  Perfect brunch spot

  Went for Sunday brunch with my pup, was promptly seated and they brought me and my girl waters, and menus, including one just for my pup. The portions were generous and the food was great and very reasonably priced but my favorite was the rum-based mimosa. My pup loved sharing my bacon and the special treat I ordered for her.

  My only feedback would be to have some heaters outside on cooler days since it got chilly outside being near the river.

  Very friendly

  umami burger and sweet potatoes (and the pickle) were delicious!

  large patio area to be with our dogs. we were here late afternoon. they brought the dogs water.

  Great atmosphere, fast service, and great staff

  we’ve come here a few times with our pup and the staff is extremely friendly and the service is fast and great. our pup loved the sirloin steak off the puppy menu

  Great atmosphere and a doggy menu!

  Lovely historic building near the waterfront in Old Town, nice menu with locally sourced food and a doggy menu too. Stopped in with my pup on the weekend and didn't have to wait long for an outdoor table. The waitress came by as soon as we were seated and brought a doggy bowl and fresh water for my pupper along with both a human and doggy menu. The human food was yummy and Ruby scarfed down her doggy food without any complains. Would definitely stop in again.

  Great spot for lunch! Large outdoor patio that’s shaded with plenty of room for you and your best bud. They even have a separate menu for Fido!

  Great Food And Experience

  wonderful food and super dog friendly - they saved us a great shaded spot outside and immediately brought us a water bowl with ice. the staff was very dog friendly and they have an adorable dog menu for your pup. food and view is also excellent, as is the service!

  Amazing Pet Friendly Restaurant

  Huge outdoor space. Lots of dogs at tables. Water bowl brought to you right away as well as a menu for your dog. The food was delicious. The service was great. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

  Large Patio Space, Very Dog Friendly

  We ate at VFG on a hot Saturday night in August around 7:30/8 (2 humans and a 25-pound beagle mix). The patio space is ample. It is nicely situated in a pedestrian area, not squeezed in next to a street. And, there were many dogs on the patio and around. The staff offers water bowls for the dogs and I hear they have a dog menu too (we didn't ask for it). The staff was super friendly to the dogs and the other diners seemed pretty dog friendly as well. I would definitely go back.

  Delicious Food and Great Ambiance

  We ate here on a late afternoon with two medium sized dogs. The food was very good, the service was nice and the location was pleasant. They are very welcoming of dogs and the tables are well spaced out so you do not feel like the dogs are in the way. Overall great experience!

  Great Place for Pups

  They have about 15 tables outside that dogs allowed and have dog bowls and a dog menu to spoil your pup. Best spot in Alexandria for brunch with your pup!

  Many of the staff came out to play with the pups. Everyone was so nice. Food was very good & they even have a doggie menu. A++

  Nice place for humans and dogs

  Arrived at 2pm to meet a friend for lunch. He didn't arrive until almost 4pm. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more patient. As I waited, my dog and I got to enjoy their beautiful covered patio and watch the world stroll along Union Street. Because of said dog I didn't get to see the inside but it looked like a wonderful conversion.

  When it's on offer I almost always try calamari as an appetizer. Theirs is prepared perfectly -- just the right amount of breading and crispness without too much oil. The pickled cherry peppers and piquillo pepper were something I had never had before and I really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, to me, the navel orange aioli was bland. I'm used to a spicer sauce with calamari. The waitress kindly offered to bring hot sauce but by then it was almost finished. We both ordered the fish tacos. Again, the fish was prepared perfectly but the sauce was bland. Also -- a big no-no in my book -- they were made with flour tortillas.

  Now that I understand their culinary P.O.V., I would definitely go back and try other dishes.

  They get the five bones for service and five bones for being so kind to my dog. But if it were just the food it would be three.

  Beautiful Spot

  We sat outside with our dog, a toddler, and four adults on the late afternoon. They had no problem accommodating us and we weren't in the way since the tables are well spaced. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff was petting our dog and offered her water (we had our own). I would highly recommend eating here on the patio and bringing your dog.
