  Great service, nice patio

  Wonderful schnitzel and goulash! We both enjoyed our meals and beers. It was a delightful late lunch on the nice terrace. Our pup was given water and, while he is very well behaved anyhow, was complimented on being so sweet and quiet. Service was excellent.
  We wanted to go back another time for music in the evening, but ran out of days on this trip to Fredericksburg.

  The food was very good. We enjoyed the sauerkraut balls, pretzels, bratwurst plate and apple strudel. The staff was wonderful with the dogs and they had a wonderful experience. Dog water bowls are available.

  Used to be our favorite restaurant

  Altdorfs is a nice, little German restaurant with a delightful outdoor patio. Until recently, it was our go to restaurant in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, with a change of chef, the food has lost it’s quality and taste. The menu decreased dramatically in choices. The top notch flavors we used to tell everyone about is now cafeteria quality. At dinner tonight, my wife had a portabella mushroom that was clearly premade and was served cold in the center. My schnitzel was warm and mostly without flavor.
  The patio was still great, the service was very good, the musician was excellent and the beer delicious, but we will have to find a new go to restaurant in Fredericksburg. We would love to come back if the food returned to it’s former outstanding quality.

  Beautiful patio.

  We ate here on a busy 4th of July. They were short servers, but our server did her best to serve 8-10 parties and remained pleasant. She was quick to bring cold water for the pup as well. The food was excellent.

  Really good German food with our dog, Muppet

  Dinner on the patio was great. My wife and I both got the sampler plate with three different sausages and a couple of German sides. To wash it down, she had a nice Pilsner while I had a great Altdorf amber. Be sure to check it out.

  Showed up 45 minutes before closing time that is posted on the door Lots of open tables outside, tons of customers, said they were closed.

  Great Experience!

  If you’re looking for great food, service and atmosphere, Altdorf is it. The Biergarten is a wonderful place to kick back, enjoy a drink and listen to live music. We’ve received top-notch service each time we’ve dined here. Jo is quite witty and is a rockstar with recommendations and need awareness. Raymond is just as attentive and kind and polite. Now, to the meat of the matter, the FOOD. I feel it’s the best brats in town, no fillers and cooked to perfection. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich and it was fabulous. I highly recommend giving Altdorf a try.

  Great Restaurant

  We brought our 2 new puppies, and was a little nervous, because we have never brought dogs to a restaurant before, the staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome, they asked if we needed a bowl of water for the puppies!
  The food was good, live music was fun, very and German chocolate cake was delicious!
  We felt very welcome with our new puppies!
  We will go there again , next time we are in town.

  Excellent Restaurant!!!

  This an amazing restaurant. They serve a variety of delicious German dishes and have a great selection of specialty beer. My English bulldog thoroughly loved hanging out in biergarten. Our waiter brought my dog a pitcher of ice water and a disposal container to put the water in without me even having to request it. Also, the patrons are so loving towards your dog as well. My bully received so much attention, she was all smiles. This restaurant is definitely a great location to stop and grab a bite with your fur baby!
