  Was told patio closed

  I sent an email asking if pets were allowed and they responded yes in the patio. Got to the restaurant and was told patio is closed today

  they will tell you that the patio is closed but clearly there were ppl eating out there & they didn’t want our mini schnauzer out there. Not sure why as he is very well behaved. (side note - it was a little past noon & they had just opened)

  The one at the boardwalk not highway

  Great for the pups and beer selection but the food did disappoint a bit… it’s good bar food put it that way… enjoy!! Either way it’s vacation and safe for pups!!

  Not impressed

  All the reviews here for this restaurant give it a great review. Then I realized they were all from more than a year ago. My dog didn’t even get acknowledged by my server once. There was no water bowl offered or a ‘cookie’. I don’t see how covid would effect this. Maybe because I went with just my dog and I. It didn’t seem busy at all. Don’t get me wrong the server was nice and checked in on me but I didn’t feel very welcomed. The food was average bar tasting food. The sushi roll was made sloppy. I was not impressed with this place at all.

  This was another one of our favorite spots to eat when we lived there food is amazing and the friendliness toward our dog was great.

  Excellent service, food & live music

  We had the pleasure of dining at the Grumpy Monk this past Easter while visiting our daughter who is a Coastal Carolina University student. We had our two small dogs with us and were seated at a table on the outdoor patio. Our waiter brought out a bowl of water for the dogs and was very good welcoming to them. The food was great and so was the live music. We will definitely return next time we are in town.

  Very dog friendly

  Shortly after we arrived and were seated treats and fresh, cold water was brought out for all three of our dogs. The food was great and the staff was incredibly friendly to both us and our pups. I would highly recommend The Grumpy Monk to anyone traveling with animals.

  Amazing!

  The restaurant was super welcoming to our dog on the patio. They brought him a cookie and a bowl of ice water along with lots and lots of love! Great prices and delicious food too!

  Dogs are welcome here with a bowl of ice water! Great experience. Will be coming back in the near future

  Searching 4 Sushi?

  Any negative review you may find on YELP, forget about it. We almost didn't dine here because of that. 5 big bones because the staff is awesome, the menu is fairly extensive and the sushi selection is out of the norm. Beer selection is extensive and there's a nice full service bar. The outside patio is very large and accommodating for canine companions. Fido and human friendly to the max!

  wonderful

  This restaurant was very good. The staff was very friendly and nice to us. The food was delicious as well. There's a great outdoor area where we dined with our Yellow Labrador and it was very cozy. They gave her water and a bone. I definitely recommend it.
