This local gem was suggested to us by our hotel along with reviewers from Bring Fido. I was excited to try since Bring Fido reviews were great and there were more than one review! Aside from having an extremely dog friendly patio, the staff and locals, sitting next to us, were outstanding and so friendly. Then comes the food… It is just down right outstanding! Fish and chips, French onion soup and if you like shepherds pie, my partner does not, we found everything absolutely Divine! Get the Paloma as a cocktail… they actually use fresh squeeze grapefruit! Whether you take a bite or devour the entire dessert, do not skip the bread pudding. This place is a treat whether you are flying solo or have your furry babies.
- ELLEN VDec 31, 2022Great place to chill with your dog
There food was great, the Paloma was delicious, and everyone was amazing to our dog (who’s pretty large). He even got some bacon. We’ll definitely be back.

VERY dog and kid friendly. Try the shepherds pie.

Brought our dog his own MacDuff engraved drinking dish. Dogs allowed outside. They will also cook your catch 3 different ways if you go fishing with Tahoe Sports fishing and bring it to them.
- TammeraNov 23, 2020Wonderful pub experience close to hotel
We are staying at the pet friendly and BringFido recommended Hotel Azure this week. After a full day of driving we wanted some place close for a meal and pint and opted for MacDuff's, where you also recieve a discount for being a Hotel Azure guest. This was a wonderful pub experience. No inside dining due to Covid but they've got a few closed in igloo looking structures set up (first come first serve) and our table under the heat lamp was plenty warm. Staff was super friendly and attentive and even brought a treat for our dog. Would recommend if you are looking for casual, pub fare.

Beautiful big patio and also a big grassy area where the bar stools are. Pick up bags provided and big water bowls brought out. Super happy to see our 2 Great Danes, everyone loved them.
Had the beef stew and fish - AmyJun 3, 2018Wanted so badly to love this place....
If you want to pay $90 for lunch for two people and two dogs to listen to cracks from your server (looks of disgust at us every time a new family came in and loud mutterings of can’t seat them next to the dogs with a big show of seating them away from us—only for the kids to immediately get up and pet our dogs—or for one couple seated by us, you are the only ones I can put at this table next to them) and the owner who has a mastiff (asking if my Bernese were going to bite him as he delivered the $90 of food—has a Bernese ever bitten anyone???) then by all means go here. I have a seven year old Bernese and a 4 month puppy that laid side by side next to our table. They did not bark, they did not move around. They chilled. Especially for a four month old puppy, it was exemplary behavior. At least 15 kids pet the dogs over the course of the meal with the dogs remaining well behaved and loving the attention—including an entire sports team that surrounded them as we left. It would be a great place I would recommend for people without dogs, but it is far too expensive and unwelcoming if you do have dogs. While I was there there were other dogs that the staff did not comment about, so apparently you have to be a local that they know for good service. Many local sports teams come here after games. I love the public house idea, and the food is quite good, but true to English food—bland. Ask for hot sauce. There is a large parking lot, excellent beer selection, and if you sit on the railing of the patio you can see the lake. But it was $15 each for the two burger patties ($30 total) for the dogs. Charged at the exact same price as if the fries etc were on the plate. If you want to enjoy your meal with your dog pass this restaurant by. There are so many restaurants in Tahoe that are truly dog friendly—go to one of them instead. Artemis, California Burger, Azul, Basecamp pizza, x Crows, Makeside Beach Bar, McPs... all will warmly welcome you and your dogs and have options for a treat you can order your dogs under $15.

- PennyMore than a year agoA lovely place to eat
We had a lovely dinner there. Our food was good and they cooked a plain burger for our girls. When one of the servers accidentally stepped on a tail (it was dark and so was the tail) she immediately made amends with some bacon. All was forgiven. We will definitely eat there again!

Had lunch there one block from Lake Tahoe. Super friendly with large selection of food and beer. Seems to be locals favorite.
