- TinaMay 22, 2024Nice patio and good food
Our dogs were happily welcomed on the large, shaded patio. There were several other dogs as well.
The workers oohed and ahhed over them and let us know they could go into the shops there too.
Smash burgers were great!
- TamaraOct 24, 2023Great place to eat after Cade’s Cove
We ate breakfast here after visiting Cade’s Cove. Breakfast was really good! Our dogs enjoyed hanging out on the patio with us. There are couple of shops in the same area as well.
- AprilOct 17, 2023Our go to
Our go too place while staying in Townsend. We visited frequently for breakfast and supper. Our pup enjoyed being with us. He got lots of attention from employees and other customers. They brought him a pup cup on one visit and several employees remembered his name on later visits.
- MariaAug 3, 2023Great pancakes
We had breakfast and it was amazing!! all dishes we ordered were very good. We are repeating breakfast in this place. the servers were very friendly. nice patio to eat while our dog chilled.

great place to stop and eat and cool down in the patio area with fans. staff were great even offered our pet bacon strips.
- BillJun 27, 2023What a wonderful place to visit with your pet in Townsend!
Staff was kind and welcoming to us bringing our puppy Sadie to the restaurant while we ate dinner. Sadie was treated with some pieces of cheese, and they brought out a bowl of water for her. Our food was exceptional, and just a great place to relax with your pup. We visit the area probably about once a year, so we will definitely be back on our next visit!
- LaurenMay 23, 2023This place is amazing!
the stores are dog friendly and so is the restaurant. I was a little confused at first- you can go in with your dog to order food and then go outside. Staff was amazing!!!!
- TimAug 25, 2022Great burger
Staff was super friendly and the patio was a nice place for lunch with our fur baby, food was great and not overpriced, we will visit again when in the area.
- JohnMay 17, 2022Good food and so dog friendly
We enjoyed a relaxing early lunch. They brought out a water bowl and extra cup of water for Nikita as soon as we sat down in the covered patio area. Food was very good and we all enjoyed our time here. Will be back many times before our trip ends.
- KelseyAug 27, 2021Great lunch spot
Stopped in here for lunch today. It was a nice place to get a delicious lunch and keep our pup cool. The Fido friendly seating area is out on their patio. It is a fully covered patio and has a cement floor which was nice and cool for our pup to lay down on while we ate. The food was amazing. My husband had the fried fish sandwich and I had the chicken salad salad. Both were fantastic choices. They are a little understaffed currently, so you will have to give some grace to the hard working employees keeping everything going. We will definitely be back to the Cafe.
You will want to bring our own bowl of water for your pup if needed. - MarkApr 19, 2021Good food and friendly staff
Lunch on the patio with fire stands. I had a jalapeño pimiento grilled ham sandwich and my better half got the applewood salad with chicken. both excellent. staff was super nice and brought out a bowl of water for fido.
- HillaryMar 13, 2021Best food in town.
We've been here a few times never been disappointed. The price is the same you would pay at waffle house or crackerbarrel, but here the food is made to order from farm fresh produce. The staff always spoil our fluffy dude. Last time we were here they turned on all the outdoor heaters so we could be comfortable. I've had breakfast lunch and dinner here.
- ErinAug 27, 2020Cute Place But...
The food here is incredibly overpriced and incredibly blah. They take advantage of the folks who are exploring the national park. I was grateful that they were awesomely dog-friendly, but next time we will pack a picnic.
- TroySep 7, 2019Very Welcoming Great Food
Stopped in with my two labs after visiting Cades Cove. My wife and i were able to sit out under the covered porch and enjoy a nice lunch with the dogs next to us. Loved the burger and the fixins bar. My wife enjoyed her chef salad. They had a nice dog walk across the parking lot with pick up bags available.

Yesterday was super busy and the wait was over an hour long. We enjoyed the patio area and live entertainment. Food was ok but not worth the wait and a tad pricey for hamburgers and hotdogs. The staff never greeted our poodle but the other patrons made up for it. She loved all the head pats. The parking lot looked to be freshly paved so be careful of puppy dogs paws with the heat.
- TiffanyJun 16, 2019Friendly Staff, Good Food
Apple Valley Kitchen Cafe has a covered patio area that can even be enjoyed on rainy days. Luckily, it was sunny and beautiful when we visited, and our pooch loved being able to sunbathe on the patio while we enjoyed our meal. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately didn't even acknowledge our little guy or bring him a water bowl. The food was pretty good though, and we're glad our pup got to enjoy a meal in little Townsend with us.
- ShaunMore than a year agovery friendly staff
Super busy today but the staff was very happy to stop and make sure Benny had a bowl of water. The porch was covered and offered good shelter from today’s rain plus some fans blowing to keep everyone cool.
