- LOct 11, 2022Wonderful food, very dog-friendly
Enjoyed a terrific dinner at Red Dot. We (including my Shiba) were treated very warmly by the staff. The food was excellent and the restaurant is right in the heart of town. We'll definitely return next time we're in Hudson.

When we were seated with our 30 pound terrier mix in their beautifully shaded patio, we soon realized the space was too tight and there was no where for our dog to sit but in the walkway (the first strike). One of the waitresses had to walk past our table to get to another table, and our dog barked two quick, short barks as she approached. Though our dog was on a tight leash and didn’t jump on her, the waitress snidely said she’s afraid of dogs (the second strike). Shortly after, our waiter came to us and said that if the dog barked again, we would be asked to leave. So, after that third strike and feeling humiliated, we packed up and left. Red Dot may allow dogs, but they are NOT friendly to all dogs. Skip this place and go elsewhere to true dog friendly places in Hudson, such as American Glory.

We had a lovely brunch today with our moderately well behaved dog. Great waitress and good food. We will definitely be back!

Wife, 35 lb terrier mix and I enjoyed an excellent Summer evening dinner outdoors in their garden patio. The food was great, recommend the mussels. The patio is beautiful with shade from two impressive maple trees. There were two other dogs on the patio, all comfortable and well behaved. Walk Warren Street to experience the towns resurgence as center for arts and antiques.

We stopped into Red Dot with our puppy and they were SO accommodating! We got there between their lunch and dinner hours but they still let us bring our dog in to their garden to have a drink and wait for the kitchen to open. The garden was beautiful, shaded, and they had a bowl ready with water for our girl. Overall, an excellent experience. If we lived closer, we’d be regulars without a doubt!

I called the night before to be certain they allowed dogs and spoke with a woman who said they did out on the patio, then asked if I'd be eating dinner. When I said no, she said that's good because they only serve drinks outside. The next day my friend and I went with my two medium sized dogs (one 45 pound mixed lab, one 60 pound chocolate lab). While they said they allowed dogs in the pit, they immediately expressed concern about their size and when we walked in another employee commented: "I hope they're well behaved because they're big dogs."
After being told we couldn't sit at a table because we weren't eating, they placed us in the front of the patio area in the pit...where the main traffic would be coming in and out, it smelled like cigarettes something terrible and there were no tables to even set a drink on.
We decided to leave entirely. Next time I visit without dogs, this is not an establishment I'll be patronizing. Simply because they're not dogs you can fit in a purse this establishment demonstrated its prejudice.

My husband and I visited this restaurant with our 10-pound Brussels Griffon. EVERYONE was super friendly and welcoming: the bartender, the hostess, the other diners. They have a lovely landscaped garden in the back with a lounge area and tables, and the food was very tasty. We had the hummus plate and two pasta dishes.
