Food was okay, pulled pork sandwich tasted great but the fries and other stuff was very greasy and didn’t taste great. very nice location to sit with dogs outside. we went in the winter and they had some heaters out on the patio. The server brought a water bowl out for my dog first thing. Service seemed quite good.

had an okay experience here. the food was sub-par and the service was very disorganized. the outdoor sitting was dog-friendly but very tight, especially for a larger dog. the waiter immediately brought a bowl of water for our pup but there was no ice (it was 100 degrees) and never re-filled the bowl.
not a terrible experience but we won’t be returning. - KrisApr 26, 2018Great food, dog friendly staff
Came by to eat late one night with our dog in tow. We sat on the deck and asked for an extra water for our dog since we carry a collapsible bowl. However the waiter brought out a dog bowl full of water for him and was aware of where our dog was laying (as it was dark at the time). Great food, great people. Dog friendly patio.

Our family had a lovely and relaxing outdoor lunch here. The server was kind and very attentive - even brought a water bowl for our pup.

My husband and I stop in The Red Horse Tavern from time to time, with our golden retriever, Finnegan. This is the only restaurant in Middleburg with outdoor dining where you can bring your pet. The staff is very friendly to Finn, bringing him cold water for his bowl and pet him as the walk past, they could not be nicer in this regard.
My favorite food item would be the mussels, this along with a glass of wine, is quite nice out on the porch which is where you must eat with a pet. This is fine as the outdoors is lovely in Middleburg, even in winter you can dine outside if the weather is mild. Over the past two years the sounds of motorcycles has become a bit annoying. It is rather constant and it is sometimes hard to have a conversation. I would recommend Red Horse if you are looking for lunch and have your pet along with you.
