    Skeeter Barnes

    Skeeter Barnes is a local barbecue joint in Kearney whipping up pork, brisket, sandwiches, ribs, steaks, prime rib, burgers, homemade sides, and salads. Fido is welcome to join you outside, where there are two large, dog-friendly tables and several smaller tables. Start off your feast with an order of BBQ Pork Nachos, topped with pulled pork, shredded cheese, barbecue beans, sliced jalapenos, and sour cream. Then move on to the Smoked Prime Rib seasoned with red wine and sage; however, it�s only available for dinner on weekends, and all day on Sunday. Midweek diners should opt for the classic, award-winning Pulled Pork Sandwich, slow smoked and served on a fresh sourdough roll. Skeeter Barnes is open from 11:00am to 10:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 11:00am to 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Visit Website

      Great stop!

      This was a great stop on our cross country drive! Yummy food and very pet friendly. Several outdoor tables to sit at and they'll bring your dog a bowl of water. Yankee gives it 5 paws!

      Good food!

      We came here while driving on I-80. Came to Skeeter Barnes because it was listed here on Bring Fido. We were able to sit outside on an otherwise empty patio with our dog. I had the pulled pork and my husband had the St. Louis ribs. Both were excellent! The sauce is very good. The garlic mashed potatoes were also very good, though we were both underwhelmed by the macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. The Skeeter Barnes wheat ale was delicious. I recommend this place and we may come back if coming through this way again. Kodi gives it a paws up as he was offered a bowl of water.

      Best place in Kearny

      what a wonderful place. We had the best Waitress. She brought a water bowl and let us in on what is good to see in Kearney. The food was fantastic.

      Great bbq, outdoor patio open to dogs.

      We were driving cross country and needed a place to stop with two dogs. The outdoor patio is open to dogs. It was really hot (95 degrees) so it's not ideal in summer, but they gave us dog water. Great bbq. Sometimes the wait can be long but ours was only 20 mins.
