    Located just off the banks of the Illinois and Michigan Canal, The Cheese Shop 'n' Deli is a dog-friendly eatery serving locals and tourists alike. Guests to The Cheese Shop wanting to devour a daily special can head to one of its three outdoor tables to enjoy alongside Fido. Its menu includes its famous homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, Fried Chicken, Len-Rico's Spaghetti, chili, seafood, wings, and a wide variety of desserts including assorted cookies, creme puffs, Magic Bars, pie, cakes, sherbert, petit fours, Lemon Squares, cheesecakes, a chocolate fountain and sundae bar.       great deli food

      We sat in really comfortable chairs out in the back and enjoyed chili, beef barley soup, turkey panini and mushroom Swiss and ham sandwich and everything was great. The shop backs up to a bike path that goes along the canal. One of us had to wait outside with our dog and the others went in to order. They brought the food out to us so we didn’t have to go back inside to get our food. They have a great selection of cheese, chocolates and other fun specialty items as well as soup and sandwiches. Highly recommend this as a fun stop to visit with your pooch.
