Shigs in Pit
The cheekily named Shigs in Pit has a few pet-friendly picnic tables where you can dine. Started by three friends, the restaurant specializes in Kansas City BBQ, which the trio has won many awards in. You can try a BBQ dinner plate of Pulled Pork, Chopped Chicken, Pit Ham, Turkey Breast or Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, or go for a combination platter. Past diners recommend the Burnt Ends, while the restaurant's specialty is the Pork Ribs. Traditional sides are available like Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens and Baked Beans. Open Sunday through Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm.
