This family-run restaurant in Elkhart has lots of pet-friendly patio tables where they welcome well-behaved dogs. Located on Simonton Lake, Pete's Taverns is serving up Rib Eye steaks, and sandwiches like Italian and Philly beef. If you are feeling seafood, they have a selection that includes smelt, blue gill, Alaskan pollack, perch, and shrimp. Check the website for specials, including the Tuesday hamburger night where you can get a burger for under three bucks. Open Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 10pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday.

We took our 80 lbs black GSD after a day in the lake that the restaurant is located on. Everyone greeted him warmly and they sat us in the shadiest spot possible.
