Dog friendly? How 'bout maybe just aim for friendly?

I had the absolute worst experience here. Know if you go in solo with a pooch, & step away for even a moment to pay or go to the bathroom, even clearing it with w/neighboring tables, you risk the unholy wrath of an angry manager. I noted they were busy & got up to pay the bill inside. She abruptly grabs my glass & tersely informs me of the no dog-left-alone policy for the first & only time. Ok. So I sit back down, and after she's been in & out a few times I offer my credit card. Without any words she takes it, mumbles something that sounds harsh as she's walking away, comes back & tosses the bill down. I noticed a 20% built-in gratuity so I ask it be removed. Then- my bad-- I dared to ask her why she was being so gruff with me, and she unleashed a tirade of insults- *very loudly* with myself & the surrounding tables looking mortified. Apparently I "walked in like I owned the place" & "nobody wanted to wait on you"- almost comical if it wasn't so childish--ya know, mean-girl jabs that someone with the emotional acuity beyond a 15-year-old would never say. Truly bizarre. So by all means, if you want your sour served with a sour mug and a public, verbal lashing, by all means, roll up.

    Great food and heated patio

This was a wonderful spot for us and our pup. The patio is heated (and has clean blankets if you get chilly). There are about 10 tables and a long picnic table outside and an accessible table in the corner. Food was fantastic and they had a lot of rotating beers in house. Great spot we could chill for hours.

    Pups and people will enjoy

This was a good stop for us, as humans, and our dog. He was given a water bowl when we arrived. It was a January afternoon and the outside table was comfortable. The food was really good and we enjoyed our time here!

    Dog friendly

This place had a nice area for the dogs. The covered patio area was heated so we could be “outside” when it was cool weather. Food was excellent. The patio was rocks so next time I’d bring a blanket or something easier to lay on but my pup managed. Eventually (after I ate) he sat in my lap.

Great Place for your Plus 1

The restaurant and its staff were very welcoming of our good boy. When asking for a cup of water for Ranger, they brought him a custom dog bowl from the back with as much water as he wanted while we ate! The food was just as great as the service!

    Great hospitality!

We had a wonderful experience here! We brought our 80lb dog on a Tuesday evening and sat outside in their enclosed outdoor seating. The heater was on and the staff even provided us with blankets and even gave our dog one to lay on. They immediately brought out a water bowl for our dog too. The food was great and so was the staff. I didn’t care for one of the beers I chose for my flight and didn’t drink it. The staff noticed that and took that one off of my bill. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we had a great experience!

    Our new favorite restaurant

We stopped to have a beer with our pup, but ended up staying for dinner and a few more beers. They welcomed our dog with a fresh bowl of water. The food and ales were excellent. This definitely is where we are coming the next time we’re in town.

    Great Place For Dogs

Ae wplace was great. Great drinks. Good food.
Toork our three dogs...a border Collie mix, a bassett, and a Labrador. It was their first time being at a restaurant but they did well. Waitress brought them water. Will go again. This is a good place for socialized dogs

    Even In january

Rowley has a patio that is even dog and human friendly in the winter time. It is enclosed with drop down flaps and space heaters so even when it is freezing outside you can bring the pups!

Great Place For Pups And Peeps

This place is great for pups and peeps because it has a heated outdoor patio. We brought our girl’s bed in and she actually slept under one of the heaters (usually it’s a struggle to calm her down in public haha). Good food. Good beer. Highly recommend.

    Positive Experience!

We are traveling in our 5th wheel with two little dogs. We were going to be gone too long and had to take them with us.
Upon arrival the waitress brought our doggies a big bowl of water.
We felt welcomed and enjoyed a good meal with a good brew.
    We’d go back!

Terrible, uncomfortable floor for a dog

Great location, fun patio and good food and beer. My only complaint for a BringFido reader is that the floor of the patio is covered in sharp rocks. My dog was so uncomfortable that she climbed into the dirt-filled bucket that held the umbrella (and didn't fit). So I took her to stay in the car. Not ideal. If I wanted her in the car on a hot day I wouldn't have gone to a dog-friendly patio.

    Excellent Dog-Friendly Restaurant

My wife and I looked for dog-friendly restaurants in Sante Fe, NM and happened upon Rowley's. We were searching for a restaurant which also served their own brews, and Rowley's more than exceeded or expectations. Our friendly waitress (Amanda - ask for her table for great service!) showed us how to enter the outdoor area using a securely closed gate for dog entry.

My wife had the grilled vegetable panini, and I had the black cod dinner (a new entree which is absolutely delicious). Mine had a wonderful balance of a small amount of coconut with the rice and a brown sugar/nutmeg sauce which spread from the fish into the vegetables. We loved our dishes.

And now to the beer. After tasting a few samples, we both decided to have the hefeweizen brewed at their restaurant. Very clear and clean flavor and served in a very appropriate glass.

Overall, Rowley's is a great restaurant with delicious brews. If we had eaten there our first night in Sante Fe, we would have gone again the second night.
