    Amazing Dog People work here.

This was actually our first experience taking our dog (Hot Sauce) out with us. The staff, owner, and patrons were so amazing. Hot Sauce was welcomed with open arms. Everyone was so nice we now want to move here.

Best Dog Friendly Bar in Town

This place was great. We wanted a place to enjoy a few drinks with some music with our dogs. The staff was super friendly, remembered our dogs from the day before walking around and gave them plenty of love and treats while we were there. The music was great too listen to as well.

FUN place to have a drink with your pooch!

Place is super dog friendly. We had a great time. Water was brough for our dog. He also got called up to the bar by patrons and got pets all down the line. Lots of cool history. Attentive staff. What was super cool is we went Sunday and then again Tuesday and our server remembered us and what we ordered. I was impressed because there are a LOT of folks traveling through that saloon.

    Great when we went

We brought two 70+ pound dogs in at 6 PM on a Tuesday and had a blast. It wasn't super busy, which might make the difference. All the staff were very kind to us. The server was very attentive and brought the boys water right away. We sat in a corner on some comfortable barrel seats and the dogs relaxed and enjoyed people coming up to ask to pet them. I ran upstairs without the dogs to order dinner and then again to go get it, and the bison ribeye was amazing. The chislic was also very good (and the boys enjoyed their pieces). The host who took my order even popped down later in the night to meet our springer mix despite it being a very busy night in the restaurant.

Super accommodating to our two collies

We had a great experience. On vacation in deadwood…Busy Friday night first week of June. The guy at the door noticed us looking and said “oh we are dog friendly”. We got a table near the bar, they brought us some dog treats. Waitress came and pet them. Honestly, no offense to the bad reviewers, but I think a lot of it depends on how well mannered and controlled your dog is with other people & dogs. For us a great experience all around, would come again. Totally recommend!

    Spectacular place

we showed up during a cold snap in February and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to pop in and warmup over wine and beer. There was no problem bringing our two little (well behaved) chihuahuas in, in fact they were a big hit. The bartender gave us a menu for the restaurant upstairs and we were able to order a lovely lunch down to the dog friendly main floor. Five bones hands down.

    Not friendly

Walked in around 5:00pm. 3 people at the bar and the bartender told us NO dogs allowed. We have a very family friendly Corgi. Maybe it depends on who is working. Older lady at the bar very unfriendly about the situation. I don’t recommend.

Our second visit to Deadwood and our second time here.

First time 2019 we had a better experience. They brought dog water etc… this stop the only dog friendly thing about this place is that they are allowed in the door. No offer for dog water

    Terrible!

We walked in on a Thursday night and there was maybe 10 people in the bar area. I wish I could say I was exaggerating, but I am not. We weren't a foot in the door, before the bartender literally screamed at us, "No, not tonight!" and we weren't allowed to enter with our two dogs. Very disappointed in them. I would give them zero bones if that were an option.

    Still dog friendly

I wasn't sure at first. Didn't see any signs out front. But there was two dogs inside. We went in and no problems!

    Cool place

Love this place, but the service wasn't very good. They do allow dogs in the bar on the first floor, but it was difficult to order drinks as the bar tender didn't have very good help. Great place to go, but be ready to wait for service.

    Dog friendly

Very nice stop. Greeted when we entered. Our dog was given treats, water bowl and complimentary dog waste bag dispenser. excellent beer list. Felt bad we could not stay to try the food.

    Not The Best Experience

We stopped in for lunch. As stated in other reviews, there is an upstairs (restaurant) and downstairs (bar) and dogs are only allowed downstairs. The bartender told me that we would have to order upstairs and then our food would be put in to-go boxes and we could eat in the bar. She also recommended another restaurant down the street with a patio (which I thought was odd). We decided to eat at this restaurant and I went up to get menus. Once my boyfriend and I decided what we wanted to eat I was headed back upstairs to place our order and the bartender offered to do it for me. She also brought down our salads and entrees when they were ready, so that was super nice of her. The issue we had while there was treatment by the rest of the employees. I walked into the small gift shop attached to the bar to look around and was not greeted by the man working (no big deal) but then a couple came in after me and he greeted them. I walked around the store for a few minutes and he still never acknowledged me so I exited the store without purchasing anything. About 15 minutes later there were 2 Weimaraner dogs in the store that were barking nonstop. The person working in the store was familiar with the dogs so I am not sure if they were his or a female employee of the bar. After listening to these dogs bark incessantly at every person that walked into the gift shop, the female came walking through with these dogs. She knew our dog was in the bar. One of the dogs seemed super aggressive and neither were on a leash. She looked directly at us as I scrambled to protect my dog from these two unleashed monsters walking through our area. The person with the dogs did nothing, did not call her dogs or try to contain them. If something would have happened I’m sure as “outsiders” we would have been blamed. This incident definitely put a damper on our time at this establishment. Would not recommend, gave two bones because the food was good.

    Fab place

Came here twice while on vacation in the Black Hills. Had different servers each time and great service. Had to order food "to go" from upstairs to bring down and eat in the bar, which they were totally cool with, and recommended by the staff.
Dogs allowed inside until around 6pm, that rule's in place because of how busy they can get in the evening. He got a water bowl, and a waste bag dispenser (complimentary), and lots of love and treats. Super dog friendly, a MUST visit if in the area!

    Awesome place to stop

We had our two dogs with us (9yo Morkie and 5mo old mini Aussie) and made sure to go in before 6 as reviews said dogs only allowed until 6. Staff was friendly, we confirmed dogs were allowed. We had a great experience and enjoyed the cool stop for local beers during a hot summer day.

    Asked To Leave

Went in to look at merchandise and maybe have a drink and the bartender saw our miniature dachshund and told us to leave. The place was empty while every other bar/restaurant was packed. Do not recommend as a place to go with your dog.

    Super Dog Friendly

Anything on the first level is open to dogs. Everyone is super friendly to them. Waitress gave him a water dish and the gift shop cashier gave him a free poop bag holder. The food was average but definitely a must stop if you want to sit and eat with your dog.

    Only in bar

They would only allow us in the bar area, and the food menu in the bar was extremely limited. I dont remember exactly as we didnt eat there but I think there was only like 4 items.

    Dogs Welcome Here!

Our dog was given a seat at the table and his own bowl of water! One of the waiters also brought out a treat for him. The food and service the humans got was also top notch as well. A great place all around!

    Dog Friendly and Fun Hangout

This is one of the more pro-pup places we visited on our cross-country road trip. Our JRT was welcome inside and lavished with treats and even a souvenir. She got to meet lots of dog lovers and even a couple other dogs. The gift shop sells doggie toys and souvenirs especially with the fur kid in mind.
For the humans, this place has so many historical Deadwood relics that it's essentially a museum in its own right. Definitely worth a visit.

    Great place for dogs

The Number 10 is on the Main St. in Deadwood's historic downtown. We stumbled across it when we poked our heads in the door carrying our little Cairn Terrier hoping we could come just inside the door to watch the re-enactment of the murder of Wild Bill Hickok if we held the dog. The bartender pulled a huge bucket of dog treats out from under the bar and told us to come in and find a table, everyone's welcome! We fell in love with the place after that. It is a family friendly bar and grill that serves normal grill type food, burgers, chicken strips, onion rings, etc. They come around to give plenty of pets, treats and water to their canine customers. They have great re-enactments of the murder of Wild Bill Hickok a few times a day. We go for a few hours anytime we're in Deadwood and highly recommend it.
