    List of dog “rules”

All stark restaurants (and only stark owned restaurants, it’s not a “California thing”) will hand you a silly and off putting list of dog rules. For a restaurant to be considered dog friendly, there shouldn’t be a list of rules for your dog. Rules include not feeding your dog the food that YOU PURCHASED, the dog can’t bark, and can’t sit in YOUR lap. Along with a few more rules. And while I believe some of these to be okay, at the end of the day a dog is a dog and what if he or she does let out a little bark because a skateboarder went by? Should your baby not be aloud in if it might cry? Any good dog owner wouldn’t sit there and allow their dog to continuously bark while people are trying to eat, but most parents of children will remain seated while their annoying child cries instead of taking them outside the restaurant until they calm down. My point is, the list of rules should be reserved for those who are making a scene and causing a problem for other patrons. I’ve dined here multiple times with my dog and was never handed a list of rules until this last time, which means I won’t be back, and I won’t be recommending the business to anyone, but my dog is well behaved. She’s never been fed at the table and because of that she falls asleep curled up in my lap as I eat. You’re not doing your business any favors by handing out this list of rules in a very dog friendly community.

    Great human food

Dogs are allowed on the patio, which has plenty of space. They give you a list of rules for dog behavior, including no barking or eating human food. They did not have any dog food options and they did not offer any water. I would not recommend it for a young or high energy dog.

    Good food and cocktails

We’ve brought our golden here a few times to sit on the patio. They hand you a list of “rules” for dining with your dog, which is a little off-putting but I guess understandable.
The front patio is on a busy street so it can be a little noisy with traffic but the food and cocktails are great and the staff are all very friendly and made a point to give our pup lots of attention.

The best eating experience in Santa Rosa

This is our favorite restaurant in SR hands down. We had not been since we got our new puppy a few months ago. We were excited to see it on the BringFido list as we were driving back from a weeklong vacation to the Pacific Northwest.

The experience this time did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded expectations. Our pup Violet is not tiny and was able to be well behaved because she was treated like she belonged there with the rest of the customers. It enabled her to be relaxed and hang out under our table. Credit to server Marisa and busser Rodolfo for exceptional service and that part of the experience.

On top of that the food was amazing as always. We had a fair sample of the menu including the smoked beats and amazing Matzo Ball Soup. Knowing that we had been on the road for the last 6 hours they even brought us a complimentary item almost as a reward for choosing them as one of our vacation destinations.

We will ALL be back and we'll bring more friends. Thanks so much again!

    Great dog friendly restaurant

Due to CA state health regulations dogs must remain on the floor, cannot be fed food from the table or be allowed to visit other tables. Common sense. These rules are posted and also delivered to dog owners tables.

Our well behaved golden retriever laid down under our table, exactly as was expected. They even brought us a SS water bowl to keep our pal hydrated.

The food is good. Portions are smaller appetizer tapas style, so you can try many features - the pastrami and fried cheese curd tacos are EXCELLENT!

If you can’t put your purse dog on the floor for mealtime, go to a fast food drive through.

    Dog Friendly (Kind Of)

We were referred to this restaurant by the hostess of the Airbnb we were staying at.
We had to wait for a patio table due to Covid, people dining without dogs prefer patio dining.
My issue is with the host telling me to seat my dog on the ground and off of my lap while we were waiting to be seated.
We were sitting on a couch outside the front door of the restaurant and we were not eating nor were we near people who were dining. I placed her on the ground because I didn’t want to say anything like why? Only due to emotions running high over this whole covid bs but come on!
We were seated in the corner by an exit ramp so, the draft was strong and my husband was freezing. The heat lamp was good for me but not strong enough for him to feel it. The entire time, I felt like we were being watched and if our pup stood on her hind legs they would say something. She’s our baby and is used to being with us and eating with us. For me to consider a place “dog friendly” it would be the staff being friendly to our pup, bringing a bowl of water without being asked and a dog menu would be nice. I fed her some of my chicken on the DL because I thought I would be scolded for feeding her.
The food is ok, we had the matzah ball soup which was tasty because it was so cold. The little gem salad was great but the chicken wings were overcooked and we specifically asked for ranch without the goat cheese and it came with the goat. Our waiter was sweet to bring two other dipping options but it wasn’t enough for us to go back again.
We’ve traveled all over with our pup, she is well behaved and friendly. We prefer establishments who understand how to make patrons with fur babies feel welcome.
