    Disgusting

We were so disappointed. You get the food to go and then eat outside, but the tables were filthy with catsup and other people’s food. When we asked for a rag so WE could wash the table they gave us a cup of water and paper towels. Then we got the food and it was unbelievably PO bad. UNBELIEVABLY! Do not recommend!!! I wouldn’t leave a single bone for this place, but the app is forcing me to choose at least one.

    Scenic Eats

We’re on a cross-country roadtrip, and our latest stop is here in Gardiner for Yellowstone. The Cowboy Lodge is one of two dog-friendly places listed on this site (though I wonder if there might be more, based on the amount of patio spaces I’ve seen). We came in at about 5pm on a Friday, and sat on the patio right out front. There’s a lovely view of the mountains around town, and a great breeze.

As for the food, I think the standout item on the menu is the wild game chili, featuring bison and elk meat. It was rich, with a very slight sweet flavor and a small kick on the end. I should have ordered that instead of what I ended up ordering.
As for the rest of my party’s opinion, the food isn’t worth writing home about. The pulled beef and pulled pork had similar flavors, and kinda tasted like something I’d get from the cooler section at a grocery store. Not quite, but close.

Having said that, our server was really friendly and provided great service. I would eat here again, and order several appetizers and eat family-style, instead of one thing per person.
