The Polebridge Mercantile

The Polebridge Mercantile has some front porch chairs and casual seating for dog owners. Both local patrons and traveling tourists recommend trying one of the baked goods on offer, including cinnamon rolls and a Huckleberry Bear Claw. For lunch, they bake their own bread and offer a range of fillings, both hot and cold. The Northern Lights Saloon and Cafe is open from 4pm to 11pm during the summer, other hours vary. Visit Website

    Not Dog Friendly!

This is a nice place in the middle of nowhere offering coffee, pastries, souvenirs, and some groceries, but it is not a good place to bring your dogs. They have one cabin for rent that allows dogs for an additional fee, but what they didn’t tell us when we checked in and said we had our dog with us is that the owner has two Great Pyrenees that roam free at night and are extremely dog aggressive. They keep them on the upper porch of the mercantile during the day. They attacked my dog and after we had to physically break up the fight, were aggressive towards us as well. We all ended up okay, but I would not stay here again and would not recommend anyone with dogs stay here.
