  Excellent If You Love French Food and Dogs!

  We are longtime fans of Angele and returned recently for the first time since the pandemic eased. Previously, we had mostly been for lunch or brunch. We were thrilled to find that the food remains delicious, the service excellent, and the outdoor patio is still spacious and dog-friendly. The wine list at dinner seems to have taken a bit of a hit, especially the sparkling section. Only two pricy options by the glass, both from less well-known regions of France (Really? With so many excellent California sparkling wines available within a 30-miles radius?). The other wine choices looked a bit more robust with a mix of local and French offerings. The desserts were amazing (the homemade ice cream was to die for, and we also tried the creme brûlée)! Highly recommended if you're in the area!

  Fabulous food

  We arrived a bit early for our reservation and the hostess was able to seat us right away after confirming our pup is “dog friendly” as the table next to us had a dog as well. Our server was very professional and personable - he accommodated my husband’s “special” cocktail request and the food was fantastic! Near us was another table with two large dogs - they are clearly very dog friendly here!

  Best dining experience of the COVID era

  From casual to Michelin star, I’ve tried it all during Covid and this has by far been the best experience- with or without my dog. First, every single person, from the host who answered when I made a reservation to the person who cleaned the table, was warm welcoming and projected a good attitude. can’t remember the last time that happened! two small dogs were welcomed on the gorgeous patio with ice water.
  server Ben was knowledgeable, professional and personable. gave good recommendations. the menu is simple but fabulous. and the food really delivered. no COVID compromises. the restaurant used actual paper menus, none of that tacky QR code crap. there were no evident staffing shortages. the bistro was full of locals and I felt welcomed like one. I found Angéle on BringFido and I’m so glad I did!

  Not tonight

  I am from out of state and went sightseeing around downtown Napa with my chihuahua and ended up in this place. I went up to the host and asked if they were dog friendly. He said "we usually are but it will be very cold tonight and our patio is closed, not tonight." I asked if he knew of any other places around there and he was nice enough to point a few out. As I walked around the place I noticed a table outside the door with four people and two dogs. The patio did look closed, for the exception of that one table. I am not sure why but it seemed to me that they were not willing to accomodate for me and my dog as they had already done for the people already there. This was around 6pm and the temperature was not even under 70*. Too bad, I really wanted to try this place.

  We have eaten here with our dog several times. The patio is great - adjacent to the river walk with overhead heaters or fans (depending on the season). The server has always brought a dish of water for our dog, and everyone is very accommodating.

  The food here is really good. I haven't had anything so far that I didn't love.
