Located on N Lakeridge Parkway in Ashland, there has been a Islamorada Fish Company in one form or another since 1948. Islamorada means Purple Isle and was given by the early inhabitants of the Florida Keys in 1907. Focusing on seafood, their menu includes lots of recognizable dishes from under the sea, like a number of signature seafood sandwiches, such as the World Famous Islamorada Sandwich: today's fresh catch grilled or fried, sauteed onions, and American cheese.       Surprisingly lovely!

      Being connected to the "Bass Proshops" made me very skeptical- I'm pleased to say I was wrong.
      A line of thunderstorms was slowly working it's way east over I-95, there were detours, lane closures & automobile accidents; all of which significantly delayed our progress to our home in New England. We had planned to make it to Baltimore, MD today, but it wasn't to be. Thank goodness for BringFido!
      Our two labs were starting to get antsy and their humans were getting hungry; we had had it with this day.
      Step one: Accommodations. We always stay in Motel6 on roadtrips with our boys because there is no pet fees, the cost is cheap & (for us, at least) who cares for just one night where you stay, so long as you have the basics? Right?
      Step two was finding an area establishment to fill our bellies. When looking for a dining establishment that is pet friendly, you come to quickly realize that most of them are dependent on the weather; as pets are usually accommodated on patios, decks, etc.
      The first place we went had live entertainment out on their covered deck & was "hopping". There was a half-hour wait, and to be honest, being seated anywhere on that small deck would have been a "deaf wish".
      Luckily, a quick telephone call to the folks at ISLAMORADA FISH COMPANY fixed everything! Not only did they set up a table to accommodate us on their beautiful (covered) porch! They even set our table up in a spot where we wouldn't get splashed by the rain (should it be falling at an angle)!
      The menu was small and sufficient, the waiter was professional and courteous, the view was unexpectedly lovely, the cocktail list was pleasing & the company was incredible. What more could you want?!

      (Given 4 out of 5 bones because the food was average.)
