  Great fun place

  Traveling through Virginia, we stopped by the water dog. Our chocolate lab, Ubu, joined us at one of the outside tables. Friendly staff and wonderful food. We hope to stop by again next time through town.

  this place rocks. I sat outside with my pup, they got her water and doted on her. the food is so good - ahi tuna tataki and the shrimp tacos were amazing. I was in a hurry and they delivered. love this place.

  The Water Dog has been one of our favorite places for a long time and now we have a puppy and we love it even more.

  Would Not Recommend

  The Water Dog is not great if you have larger parties and groups. Even if you offer to split up your groups they still don’t want to accommodate. They were extremely rude and stated they have a “small kitchen” yet they kept seating a lot of other people! And they have a lot of tables inside and outside. The owner, Dave, thinks it’s acceptable for his staff to be rude as well. He will never be getting my business again! I will not be recommending his business to anyone visiting Lynchburg either since they seem to not be able to keep up!

  Great Atmosphere, Not Great Service

  we have eaten here often! They have so much to do outside and are extremely dog friendly! However, it seems like just about every time we go they are out of a lot of menu items. We usually have to get up and go find our server to ask for our check because they don’t check on you often enough.

  Perfect place for a bite to eat and your puppers!

  The location is everything. There are so many places to sit outside, food was great, and they're very dog friendly. I'll be going again the next time I'm in town.

  Great food and great service!

  wonderful service and a great location! we stopped for an early lunch and were quickly seated. our waitress brought out a water bowl and cool water almost immediately. the food was fantastic, as was the service! the entire staff was also very dog friendly and loved giving our poodle attention. this is a must visit if you are in Lynchburg!

  Awesome dog friendly restaurant

  Great area in downtown. There was an abundance of dogs on the day we visited. The staff was so happy to see the dogs as well. The food was excellent which was an extra plus. It will be our go to place when out with the dogs when visiting Liberty University.

  Great food, Perfect Choice

  My dog and I both liked our visit. We felt very welcome on the patio. The menu is interesting and the food was delicious. My dog loved socializing with both people and other dogs.
