  Great food, great service, truly dog friendly.

  We decided on Sprague’s over another local eatery with similar fare due to the wharf with tables that are advertised as dog friendly. We got there and waiting in a quickly moving line, being greeted by extremely friendly staff. A gentleman came over and gave our dog a fresh lobster claw as a treat, and gave him a few oats for being a good boy. The portions were generous, and the prices were fair. The tables were clean and spread far apart, and had umbrellas that gave the right amount of shade. I would definitely recommend this place, and we and our four legged friend will be back!

  Nice find

  We noticed two lobster shacks across the street from each other on our way to Bar Harbor. We made a not to stop for lunch on our way home. We got to the two shacks and noticed a long line at the shack on one side (Red's) and a nice shack with a shorter line (Sprague's). We chose the shorter line and the wide open deck area that would afford our dog some room. Ordered a Lobster Dinner and a 1 1/4 lobster. The prices seemed reasonable for what we got. We were surprised that the dinner included steamed clams since it was not listed on the sign. The steamers were a bit sandy, but, very good and fresh. The lobsters were softies, which I usually do not like. The lobsters were sweet and cooked properly. The pup was happy to share the clams and lobster. We were happy not to have waited in a long line for the same food. We will definitely stop here again.
