    Very Pet Friendly

Zolas has a special area just for diners who have pets. There are 4 tables next to the boat launch in the Harbor and we enjoyed watching the sunset and dining with our pup. we had the calm chowder and clam steam pot. Both were tasty! They brought water for our Luna out and she was perfectly happy sitting on the cool concrete slab on the warmer day we visited.

    So cute!

This place is right on the water and has a whole back deck area dedicated to people with pups! The food is delicious (fish tacos were perfect), service was quality, and the decor was adorable. Highly recommend.

    Multiple Strikes, you’re out!

When we first moved to Brookings, we tried all of the places for food. Pretty limited as we’re small town, and it’s mostly casual dinning. In 2020, Zolas failed, but that “was” during COVID, so later we tried it again (after 3 tries) and they redeemed themselves. Great location, nice setting, decent bar. It was one of our top 3, and we took all of our guest there. But they recently updated their menu, and now they can’t get the food out to you. Most of the servers are great, but chances they’re going to jump ship if the kitchen management doesn’t get it together. We saw people come and go, and our food no showed. I will say, nearly 1.5 hours later, the pizza and pasta dishes were good. My food was over cooked, the wife’s food was mediocre, and the manager, well our comments to him fell on deaf ears. It was like talking to a manikin. Sorry, what should be one of the best places in town is failing. There are other great places in town.

    Great Patio, Horrible Service

I was very hopeful walking up to this restaurant. Darling outside section set up specifically for people with dogs. After sitting down, things went downhill quickly. It look the waitress 20 minutes to even acknowledge me (despite attending to other adjacent tables) and then at least another 45 minutes to be served food which consisted of chowder in a bread bowl. Seems like a pretty simple order at 3 in the afternoon but it took ages. The server also declined my request for a water bowl, claiming she could not touch anything dog related due to health restrictions. I ended up pulling over a “used” bowl from another table so my dog could take a drink. The chowder, when it finally arrived, was delicious but I would never go back to this place because of the horrible service.

    Great Spot

Area on outdoor patio with heaters set aside specifically for tables with dogs. Food really good (pizza their specialty but had grilled fish and was very fresh). Overlooking the marina.
