    Dog City, USA

After a morning of hiking and touring the Biltmore Estate we were ready for lunch. Carmel’s was highly recommended on the BringFido site. We weren’t disappointed. Southern hospitality, good service and delicious food. Carmel’s does not sacrifice quality. And they provided a water dish for Clementine. The outdoor location was fun for people watching.

    Great Experience!

Everything about Carmel’s was perfect. Hostess greeted both us and our dog and promptly got her a bowl of ice water when we sat down. General Manager visited us twice to see how we were doing and how our meal was. Awesome live music outside -jazz and blues. Meatloaf was to die for and the kale salad was a best ever. Local brews delish. Was clear our dog was very welcome. We will be back again!

Had several outside seating options with water bowls. Food was amazing also super close to some other cool dog friendly attractions.

    Food, drink and service excellent!!!

This restaurant was wonderful - the people were super friendly and genuinely seemed to like dogs. The food was so good - especially the fried green tomatoes and flight of local brews. And our chihuahua enjoyed watching all the other dogs around us. Definitely worth checking it out!

Great place for the pooch and awesome food!

Fried green tomatoes, local beer, fried chicken & waffles? What more can you ask for. The location is on a busy street so if your pet is afraid of cars this might not be the best for you. Plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas so it’s not hot as hell. Would definitely recommend and return.

Most dog friendly staff I've seen

We didn't actually eat here but we were walking past and looking at the nearby arts vendors and multiple members of the restaurant staff came over to meet our dog and offer him treats. I wish we hadn't already had lunch or they certainly would have had our business.

    Relaxing and Enjoyable

Sat outside with pooch. Attentive service and having a dog wasn't a problem at all. They brought water bowl with ice. Other patrons didn't mind dog at all, too. Had the pulled pork pizza and a couple beers. Very good. Priced right, too.

    Break from the Burgers

There is LOTS of great bar food in Asheville, but it's nice to have a "entree" meal with your pup every once and a while. There were two other dogs there when we went. I had meatloaf and 2 local brews. My partner had a steak and we split the pork egg rolls. All of the food was amazing. Our puppy was given lots of love by the server and we all had a great time!

    2 pleased pups

While traveling with my family we ate at Carmels. The food was amazing and the service even better if that is even possible. Everyone was friendly and attentive. They gave my dogs bacon, fresh water and attention. My dogs were so happy. They definitely got spoiled.

The relaxed atmosphere was much needed after a 8 hour car ride. I can't say enough good things about Carmel's. It was awesome to find somewhere that was not only dog friendly but had vegetarian options as well. I recommend the fried green tomato sandwich.

    Outstanding food

Found Carmel's on Bring Fido and called ahead. Food was OUTSTANDING and very relaxed atmosphere. Here is the scoop on "dog friendly" - in the Spring and Summer, there is outside seating (bistro style) along the side/sidewalk of the restaurant that is dog friendly, but only service dogs are allowed in the restaurant area. We were here over the Christmas break so no outside seating, but plenty of street parking in front of Carmel's and there is a covered parking structure across the street (visible from Carmel's), so we left our dog in the car and it worked out fine.
