We were seated on the patio. The server never acknowledged that we had a dog or offered water, we bring our own so we made out okay. The
service and food were not good,
to the point that one in our party didn’t eat. The server didn’t check on us and offered no other option, finally removing the meal from the bill. We visited late evening on a weeknight, and it was still very packed and a bit distracting for our dog. - KIMBERLY AJun 15, 2023Good food water bowl in front

- SarahMar 30, 2023Good food and welcoming to furry friends
Short wait, friendly staff, good food and a covered patio to stay dry. The dogs were loved on and welcomed with a big bowl of water.

the dog was welcomed but even he wouldn’t eT some of the food. raw oysters were good. fried food has been overcooked into bricks. multiple other dog friendly options close by. won’t be back.

Overall the experience was ok the food was so so and I felt like everything I wanted they didn’t have they don’t even have some of the basics also the service was slow, but it is extremely pet friendly the waitress brought out a water bowl for are dogs and the location was just amazing we got to sit on the dock so that was the best part.
- MichelleApr 20, 2019Great location!
Great location on the water with a large deck. Propane heaters helped keep the spring chill to a minimum. I did not see water bowls or treats out for their four-legged guests, but the staff was friendly and there were several other dogs out enjoying the sunny day. My only complaints were the wait (almost an hour) and a lack of grass for business purposes.

Great location on Shem’s Creek. Excellent seafood baskets . Make sure you have the blue cheese cole slaw!! Super dog friendly, we took our two collies and were given water and welcoming pats!! Great relaxed vibe!
- LynMar 21, 2018Great location, and heated for colder weather!
We went here on our weekend getaway to Charleston, which BTW is the most dog friendly place I’ve ever been and the food was delicious, everyone was so welcoming and friendly to our dog, and the prices were really good! They brought a water bowl over and she got so much lovin while we were there. There is a large amount of tables to sit at with your dog as a lot of the restaurant is considered outdoors but covered! They also had a huge heater going all around the bar which you could feel at the tables so it wasn’t too cold! The view was great too being right by the river. Def recommend :) I just wish there was a place like this back home!

Great food !!! And great for dogs!!!!
- LanceMore than a year agoGreat but can be crowded
I come here quite often with my pup and never have issues. They will bring him balls of ice to chew on in the summertime and sometimes even bacon slices. the patio is huge and right on the water and the food great. the only thing that can be bad is how crowed they can get.
- LaurenMore than a year agoA favorite in Charleston
We love visiting Red's Ice House when we're in the Charleston area, but this was the first time we had taken the dogs. It was a busy Saturday night so we had to wait about 30 minutes, but the outdoor bars were open and there is plenty to look at while waiting. We even watched a few dolphins play in Shem Creek. Everyone was nice to our dogs, the band was great and food was too! Even our dogs had a great time!
- BrendaMore than a year agoLots of patio room
Lots of outdoor patio room for bringing your dog. We had the shrimp & cheese fritters & jalapeño hushpuppies to start. Real good. Fish & chips and grouper sandwich was just okay. Friendly staff. They made a hamburger patty just for our dog. He loved it, of course.

Very good environment, food and service. Highly recommend! They brought us water when we were seated and we had not trouble with our dog.
- SherryMore than a year agoGreat Seafood and Great View
Great Seafood at Great Prices. The view is so wonderful overlooking the water and you can actually see the dolphins. Very dog friendly.
- KimbraMore than a year agoNot as dog friendly as they used to be
This used to be our "go-to" place with our fur babies; however, they've become less tolerant of their furry patrons over the past year. Sadly, I haven't been back in over 6 months. Juanita Greenberg's is a MUCH better place to take "Fido!"
- MelissaMore than a year agoGreat Experience!
This was our second visit to Red's, and we will continue to come back. The view from the deck is great. We got a bucket of ice water for the dogs, and the food is really good. Today we had the crab dip appetizer, which was delicious, and a summer salad with fresh watermelon and strawberries over baby greens, topped with candied pecans and blue cheese crumbles and a strawberry vinagrette..Yum!
- FinnellaMore than a year agoFun and Dog Friendly
Red's has a large deck area and welcomes pets. Our dog got a bucket of water but only after we asked. The food was pretty good, although the shrimp appetizer was amazing. It's a popular place, so wait times can be long. We had no wait on our first visit, but we had to skip a second visit during the weekend dinner rush because of a 1 hour wait.
- KevinMore than a year agoFood okay, sometimes too crowded
Good location, food okay. Sometimes too crowded, but dog friendly.
- CATHERINEMore than a year agoDOG FRIENDLY!!

- MindyMore than a year agoService with a smile
Great service and welcoming to our Jack Russell. Food mainly fried but hot and a short wait even when busy.
- GailMore than a year agoGreat place to bring your dog
We stopped by Red's with our Lab and were welcomed to sit, got a bucket of ice water for the dog and the view on the channel was superb for just hanging out with your 4 legged friend, watching dolphins frolic in the water only helped to make this stop perfect. Totally recommend for food, drink and dog perfection!
