  Great dog friendly pea-gravel covered patio right in the middle of main street. Server brought out a water bowl and multiple other dogs on the patio.

  Staff love the dogs!

  We felt nothing but love from the staff towards our two pups. The outdoor seating was shaded, but they can also enclose and heat it in the cooler months. We had their seafood special, pizza and olives; everything was delicious.

  Fantastic Spot!

  We just spent 2 days in Saluda with our pup and visited the Purple Onion 3 times. Wonderful atmosphere, outstanding menus for both lunch and dinner. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating to our dog. Can’t recommend the Purple Onion highly enough!

  great spot, super dog accommodating

  The food was fresh and tasty. The service was fast and friendly. The coffee was roasted within 30 miles and you could tell by the flavor. Our dogs received a fresh bowl of water and lots of pets. We sat in an open patio, but there was also a closed in patio that we were offered, even with the pooches.

  Wonderful place for lunch just off 1-26. Great food, dog friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Loved it!!

  One of our favorites!

  We travel to Asheville several times a year, but always make time to stop in Saluda on the way and have lunch at the Purple Onion. They have a wonderful patio for dining in the summer, and even when it is enclosed for winter weather, they let us bring the dogs in! To top it all off, the food is EXCELLENT, and the prices are very reasonable. My labradoodle fell in love with our waitresses, and got lots of attention (including plenty of fresh water) from the staff! Highly recommend this place!
