You may cross the border into Canada with your pet easily as long as your pet has been vaccinated against rabies within 3 years of your date of arrival. Pets over 3 months of age require one of the following two options:
- Rabies vaccination certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian and written in English that clearly identifies the animal and states the date of vaccination
- Health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian and written in English verifying the date of the rabies vaccination.
Pets less than 8 months of age require the attached health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian within 36 hours of arrival into Canada.
Domestic dogs entering Canada do not have to be quarantined
