Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Qatar with your pet:
  • Qatar is a high risk country for rabies. Before receiving an import permit to return to the U.S., travelers must obtain 2 pictures of their pet's front teeth, a CDC Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Record, a serologic titer from an approved laboratory and a passport photo of the owner. Once these items are obtained, apply for a permit for your pet to return to the U.S. at this link. For further guidance on returning to the U.S. with your pet from a high risk country, contact the CDC directly at cdcanimalimports@cdc.gov
  • Dog and cat owners who want to bring a pet into Qatar must fill out an online form at the above link. Select "Health Certificate Service," fill out the forms and attach copies of your pet's vaccinations, an antibody test for rabies from an accredited laboratory and a copy of a Qatari health card if you are returning to Qatar. The permit is free and valid for 30 days.
  • Animals must be family pets and be staying in Qatar with a resident for an extended period.
  • All pets entering the country must be seven months old.
  • Adults are only permitted to bring one pet per year into the country.
  • For processing reasons, pets must enter Qatar via Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Quarantine Information
