Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Trinidad and Tobago with your pet:
- Apply for an import permit from the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) via email at aphmalmr@gmail.com at least 6 weeks before travel to allow for processing.
- Pets must be microchipped with an ISO-compliant microchip, have a valid health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian in the country of origin within 7 days of the travel date, which includes proof of rabies vaccination administered at least 6 months before travel, and provide original lab results from an approved lab for rabies blood test (FAVN or RFFT) at least one month after vaccination.
- Entry requirements differ depending on which country your pets are coming from. Please refer to the table and guidelines provided in the attached entry application for further details.
- Pets must be treated for internal and external parasites within 10 days of travel.
- Notify Veterinary Services at (868) 642-0063 or (868) 642-0064 at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival time.
- Pets are now permitted to enter Trinidad and Tobago by air via cabin, checked baggage or cargo.
Quarantine Information
Pets traveling to Trinidad and Tobago do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above. Animals that do not meet the requirements of the import permit may be subjected to full quarantine for not less than 6 months or quarantine until specific requirements are met.
