Great location to take your pet and they accommodate for your dog as well as all visitors.
- MaddyOct 20, 2019Great little hike
Daisy and I visited in mid-October so seeing the trees turn different colors was extra beautiful. Also it was pretty chilly out so there was less of a crowd.. I can imagine this place gets SUPER busy on popular days.
You must stay on the path with your dog and have leash on at all times. It's $14.50/per person, which makes sense since a huge portion of the hikes are on wooden staircases and walkways, that are all well maintained.
Daisy (12 years old) and I did the "difficult" hike which takes you out to see a few smaller waterfalls and around to a really lovely view of the Valley. I would recommend this one since we got to walk around on an actual dirt trail instead of just up and down wooden stairs.
Dogs are not allowed inside the gift store or any of the buildings on the site. They also have activities for kids like a little maze thing, wilderness education center, mini golf, and boats.. all were closed when we went though (mid Oct)

The falls were absolutely beautiful! There is a LOT of steps tho and for dogs who don’t enjoy tight walkways may not enjoy the falls area. There are three trails (easy medium hard) and dogs are welcome on all of them. If you take the red trail up-stream there is a little area for paws to get wet - though be careful as there is a $400 fine for disturbing anything off the path. Trash cans appeared plentiful, there is also a $14.50 fee during the week and more on the weekends. It was full for a Friday in August but overall we are glad we did it!

Great walking trails! Would like it if they had fountains (both human and pup friendly). Also very few trash cans so if pup goes, be prepared to carry the poo! They say no swimming but it’s nice to let pup get his paws wet. 😉

The falls were roaring after 4 days of rain but we had a sunny day that was not crowed many steps but or 9 year old dog had no problems a beautiful spot
- SandraSep 29, 2018Caution: TOO MANY STAIR WAYS AND STEPS FOR DOGS.
Too many staircases for dogs, fine for dogless humans. The place contains several water falls, there are many, MANY wooden staircases throughout the entire park. They are leading up to each one of the water falls. There are also wooden stairs which lead up to bridges which go over brooks and streams. I have a small 6 lb. Maltese he has knee problems and we always carry him everywhere we go. We put him in a back pack carrier or a front pack carrier that we wear, which contains his whole body except for his head so he can peak out enjoy the sites. However with so many dangerous stair cases to navigate while carrying my dog I have this fear of falling on him or with him while he is being carried, which could happen. The stairs can be slippery at times and even when they aren't you still have to watch your step. I just wouldn't recommend bringing dog here because of so many stairs Especially if your dog is old or has hip problems, or any type of problems. I would find somewhere else without stairs. For use by human beings only, I give this place a higher rating it is beautiful and we had a great time there, but we are rating 'bones' for dogs, not 'stars' for humans in this review.
- BarbieMore than a year agoToo "Touristy"
The area was all super crowded, which of course is to be expected - however there were many foreign people and tourists, which of course is fine! But if you have a big dog I've learned that's usually an issue. People were grabbing their kids and running from my large dog, who just doesn't understand why people don't all love him.
Too crowded to stop and take the time to enjoy anything. For less money you can go to less popular falls and enjoy them more!
- ChrisMore than a year agoBeautiiful, but alot of steps
The attraction is beautiful. The staff is great. My dogs like it, but have trouble on the steps. Many of the best views are located up and down a lot of stairways and one of my dogs has trouble on the steps. If your dog can easily navigate wet wooden stairs, it is a great place to take them. If your dog has trouble on steps, you can still navigate to some of the areas, but the views of the actual falls will not be as easy to get to. All in all, a wonderful place.
