Fairport Harbor Dog Beach
Fairport Harbor Dog Beach is pet-friendly. A dog swim area is located at the east end of the beach between the two signs clearly marked “Dog Swim Area.” This is the only place dogs are allowed on the sand. Dogs not in the swim area must remain on the sidewalks, parking lots or grassy areas. You must leash your dog when it is out of the water and you must carry the leash with you at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up pet waste. Make sure you keep an eye on the weather and any warnings, as the beach is not always accessible. Visit Website
Or call (440) 639-9972 for more information.
- BrittanyJun. 7, 2021No longer a swimmable dog beach
The website for Fairport Harbor Park states "Dogs must be on a leash and are allowed only on the paved parking lot or in the designated dog area east of the concession stand. Due to recent shoreline erosion, access to the lake for dogs is closed for the safety of both pets and their owners."
- LeslieJul. 1, 2019Great location...for a broken leg
Its not a beach, its a rocky(boulders) that extends away from a sidewalk. There is NO beach for dogs and its a very small area. Bring your hiking sticks because between the waves coming in and the slippery rocks....well lets just say accidents will happens if not to you then your dog....😖 NEVER GOING AGAIN. Oh, almost forgot, you have to pay to get in😖😖😖 (Had to give it a one because it wouldn't take zero)

Ha! Dog beach is that what they call it? For the price each car pays to get in you could clean it up.. it’s nice up until you get to the dog area. Sad!

The dog beach is very small and the "beach" is pebbles, not sand. You have to pay for parking. Finally, the is a nuclear power plant a few miles away.
- MiltMore than a year agoSmallest dog beach ever
The dog beach swimming area is literally 20 yards long by 5 yards of sand deep. Not worth it at all to come here with your dog. Rocks and concrete everywhere plus broken glass around the walkway.
- TerriMore than a year agoToo rocky
I have been here a couple of times. I honestly cannot remember there being so many rocks along the edge of the beach. It almost looks like they were dumped there. It is more like pieces of concrete as opposed to Rocks.
We took our dog there to help him strengthen his leg from ACL surgery, and that was the only disappointment.
Everyone there was extremely friendly and only one dog was a little crazy, but his owner had him on his leash the entire time.
My only suggestion is, they should get rid of the broken concrete barrier between the shore and the water. It's dangerous for humans and pets.
- EllieMore than a year agoJust ok
The dog beach used to be bigger there isn't much room now and what beach they have the bottom of the lake is covered in rocks the dogs can't get stable footing.

- CatMore than a year agoA day at the Beach!
Spend the day in the waves, relax in the shade and then walk over to Sunset Harbor for relaxed dining on the pier. All with your dog in tow.
