Newtown Dream Dog Park
- WilderFeb. 22, 2021beautiful park!
I’m from NC and was in Atl for a couple days and saw postings about this park and decided me and my pup had to check it out :). I read some reviews where due to it’s popularity it can get hectic on weekends and you run a greater risk of encountering aggressive dogs or mean owners so we just went on a monday morning and it was amazing :). handful of dogs to play with, chill owners, lots of tennis balls to fetch, and fun log features to climb on and explore. really enjoyed it overall, and the astroturf was a huge bonus in keeping my guy clean while he ran around fetching balls or playing. one thing i would say is if you plan on going in winter, make sure to bring your own water for your pup, because they turn off the water in winter. we had to cut our play session a bit short because we forgot water, but we plan on going back! overall fun and beautiful park! i think going during a weekday and not during a really popular time was key to our experience, and would highly recommend :)
- TedNov. 6, 2019Great News- Tahoe is 'gone'!
There has been a large black Native American (think large German Shepherd) named Tahoe that has been terrorizing this dog park for a LONG time. (actually it's his ;sitter; that is the problem (when you beat a dog with a leash...well (his new dog is now aggressive, go figure!)
Anyhow- many many folks have said they will 'never go back' due to the DAILY dog fights (the 'sitter' stays at the other end of the park, with his back turned ignoring)...
Anyhow Tahoe is moving to Colorado!
It is (finally) safe to go to the dog park with our being afraid you, or your dog, will be visciously attacked (and then have the 'sitter' not leave or do ANYTHING about it).

The dog park is great, the surrounding park has trails, fields, plenty of space to do cool stuff. Even some workout equipment!
At the dog park, there is a group of older people with big, aggressive dogs. The owners don’t try to control their dogs, even when they group together and get aggressive with other dogs. I had to leave and come back when the other dogs were gone.
- PattiMore than a year agocould be awesome!
It’s an amazing park in design and amenities. Unfortunately the last few times we visited, there were so many little kids running around. Very chaotic for some dogs and for this human. They have playgrounds for humans in that park and that’s where the KIDS should play.

In the summer there are pools for the dogs to cool off in. I live that because I worry about them over heating. There's water at the front and back of the park but I don't believe they are always dogs. ed on. There is a large shaded area with wood chips, several place for owners to sit, a covered sitting area with picnic tables at the back, plenty of balls to play with and the fake grass area is nice. You don't have to worry about your wet dog getting muddy.
Just like with every park you have people who don't clean up after their dogs. This is the only bad part...that fake grass stuff isn't terrible for keeping it clean of dog waste. Those who do the up keep need to go in there and actually scrub or take a hose to it.

So much fun! My doggie buddy loves it! He enjoys swimming in the pool, playing in the sprinklers, and playing with his friends. I like that there is a shaded area for people to sit, and water fountains for us.
