Double Trouble State Park

The Double Trouble Historic District is pet-friendly. There's a self-guided, marked 1.5-mile loop nature trail and several miles of unmarked paths along sand service roads. Nature trail guides are available at the trailhead next to the cranberry packing house and at the park information building. Double Trouble Village is an active cranberry farm. Pets must be on a leash at all times and owners must clean up after their pets. Make sure you check your dog for ticks when you're done exploring. Visit Website

It is a beautiful place but, although the walks are scenic and lovely, the ticks are just too much. This is so during the winter, as well. The last walk last December, resulted in an infected tick removed from my leg and weeks of antibiotics and blood tests. My pup had four crawling on her. No more walks there.

Beautiful place but ticks galore. I wouldn't go back again. Winter, with snow on the ground, might not be a problem, but there are better, safer places to go with your pet.
