    My Dog's Favorite Park

I am a paying member of this non-profit park that is 100% run and supported by volunteers, not the town. We visit 3-5 times a week, and my dog runs his legs off. There are many responsible dog owners who frequent this park. They are observant, pick up after their dog, and are always watching play time. The park can become quite busy on the weekends with members and non-members. Everyone has to bring their own water, because the land owners won't allow piping into the park. That's a small inconvenience for such a lovely space, in my opinion. We've made friends over the last year here, and I know they're planning several events in the near future that will be fun for dogs and humans. There are great trees for share and benches for those who may need to sit.

    We Love Candlewoof!

What a great park. It is large, well maintained and the people are very friendly. When I first moved to the area I assumed it was a city park, but it is actually run by all volunteers and supported by members. There is a small dog park and a large dog park and plenty of shade. They have a small obstacle course towards the back. Bring water they do not have it on sight, poop bag stations are plentiful. My dog loves it here. I am so happy we found this gem of a dog park.

    Lazy Dog Owners

Could be a decent dog park, it's definitely not as nice as Newtown or Ridgefield (the gross white resin chairs thrown all over don't give it a very tidy look) Brought my dog here on 3 occasions the last two my dog encountered aggressive dogs and the owners just sit in a big group and let their dogs "show their dominance".....no thanks. I'll take the drive to the many other parks in the area.

    Great Humans!!

We love this park. Just bring water and doggie bags. Everything else provided. Fenced in, shaded, clean park. Just say Candlewoof and our dog is waiting at the front door to go - with the biggest smile! Join the Candewoof Park - non-profit supported by donations. $20 a year - and the dogs can bring their humans too! Enjoy.

    Fantastic dog park

We have been bringing our dog nearly every day, and have always been met with friendly dogs (and their people). It's big enough without being too big - you just have to watch the ice in the winter!
