The beach is really beautiful
The sand is clean. We went early September and it was the perfect weather. Sunset was amazing
There’s a place to wash yourself and your pup near the beach
A lot of eating places as well. Parking was a bit far but there’s a lot of place for it
Pier is off limits for the dogs but there's a washroom for the humans - CrystalJul 9, 2021Great way to start socializing
We brought our 16 week old puppy on vacation to help her socialize. Pismo Beach was a great place to go. Dogs are allowed on the beach left if the pier. Poop bags are readily available. Be aware, signs are posted stating a $100-$500 fine for not picking up after your pet. Thank you. There are so many people and sounds around, it was great for teaching. She got so much love while she was there. Oh yeah she’s spoiled
- MJul 14, 2020Nice beach for dog walks but . . .
The ordinance states that dogs must be on leashes at all times on this beach; however, there are ALWAYS people walking their dogs without leashes here and I’ve never seen any patrolling or enforcement of any type. I keep my dogs on their leashes and it is frustrating and sometimes scary when bigger dogs off-leash come running up aggressively to my dogs. If you have a leash law, please enforce it so people know it’s safe to walk their dogs there. Otherwise, don’t bother having a leash law. At least then we’ll know that dogs are not on leashes.

if you need a full wide Sandy Beach, but dogs aren't allowed off-leash. They also aren't allowed on the Pismo Beach pier at all.
- AutumnJun 29, 2019Nice beach for a day visit
Not crowded during our stay in June 2019. A few dogs on the beach. Free parking south of the pier - yes! There is a mid sized lot there. Poop bags available at the entry points, but trash cans are rare beyond the pier proximity.
